Suddenly a prioritization of what we want taken to the devs is Vert's latest post. Does anyone else see the irony?

irony no.
Vert is a decent guy but he only seems to answer us after a through beating session on the boards.
I have lost track of how many times I have said we need more feedback.
The only support we seem to get is from each other. and for that /salute my fellow CH's

Ok, gonna respond to everyone in turn,

BlackEdge, the "fixes" I was referring to I guess would be the rebalance, and the addition of features like commanding special attacks, just as a for example. Of course, the special attacks still don't work properly, but sometimes they do and obviously they need further correction. I was mostly referring to changes, like bringing us into balance. You have to admit having 3 rancors back in the day was a bit overpowering. Again, we're far from perfect, but I think we've made good progress and eventually everything will be completely (or almost completely) right. This game was released far too early, only now does it feel like it should have at release. And you're right, the dev team is moving rather slow with their changes. But, in my opinion, there are a lot of professions far more broken than we are. At least much of our profession works as it should (at least for me).

Pluto9Moon, I don't deny you have the best of intentions. I really think you do. I just don't like how you take good intentions and release them as an attack on Vertexon. All the "indifference" or other perceived faults you have are just your opinion. I hold the opposite view. I would think from the reaction against your Poll: Should Vert Be Replaced? thread you might realize that their are a good number of people who believe Vertexon is doing a fine job. And they are just as entitled to their opinion as you are. But please remember, personal attacks don't really get you much credit. I admit I'm not perfect when it comes to that either, I probably stepped over that line in a couple places on this thread, with apologies to you and to Freth. But regardless, I don't see how making Vertexon the scapegoat solves anything. I have said before and I will reiterate once again, he has limited powers and simply can't make changes on his own. I am of the belief that he gets the issues in the right place, and that the development team is 100% responsible for what is done with said information. I think he does his job well, and in my opinion Vertexon deserves our praise for taking on this difficult and thankless job, and the developers deserve to be held responsible for changes made (or lack thereof) with the information he gives to them. If anyone "endangers" the profession, it's the other players who have constantly cried nerf and continue to do so even to this day, as we are generally outnumbered by nerf-crazed powergamers.

I have no opinion regarding Thunderheart. I know he limits what he says, either by choice or by order from above, and often digs himself into a hole by saying too much or too little. I rely on the patch notes from TestCenter, and what the various correspondants post to get my general opinions, and I read what Thunderheart posts to attempt to squeeze out that much more information.

And please, nobody is in my camp. I have one MCH friend on my server, and he hasn't posted here. I speak for myself, and I'm not going to be held responsible for other people calling for you to get banned. That's on them, and anyone who 5 starred it obviously agreed with it. I generally don't star posts unless they are outstanding or abysmal. I had nothing to do with it.

I would be happy to try my hand at correspondent at some point, I admit. But I tell you this, I really don't think I would be able to do any better job than Vertexon, just because I believe any shortcomings that most people are perceiving here are not Vertexon's fault, they seem to be the fault of inaction from the developers. I suppose my daily postcount would be higher because I tend to babble, but the real important thing is do I have something relevant to say every time? Hard to say. And threads like this are not something really appropriate for a correspondant to be posting in. Vertexon posts when it seems appropriate. And he posts when he has new info. If no new info is forthcoming, what do you want him to post about? Repeat what he said yesterday just so his postcount moves from 899-900? I don't see how that's any more helpful than posting nothing. This is a very passionate community that I am proud to be a part of. You guys speak your minds, I give you that. And some very good, as well as some very bad, ideas come out of it, and some good discussion goes on at times. Again, you and I differ in opinion, but we both have said and continue to say our piece. So, that's a good thing.

Freth, I didn't mean to make a big stink over your statement, I apologize for singling you out. I think you're right, we both have to agree to disagree. Sure, I've seen the various incarnations of this profession. But I play daily and don't feel like I'm missing something I used to have. I feel like the profession fits my playstyle, and is balanced for the most part with the other professions. I want more tamable babies, and I want to function better in PvP, and I want the special attacks to work correctly on demand. That's about it. Otherwise, I very much enjoy CH, the occasional bug withstanding. I won't drop it for anything. All my hologrinding crap has worked around CH. Luckily, none of my holocron professions required me to drop, and I refuse to grind any silent that do, even if that's all that's left. I still feel great about what I can do, and what fun I have with my profession. When I don't, I will quit SWG entirely. I'm sorry you have come to that point, and I wish you well in whatever you choose to do. I hope you find it more rewarding.

So yeah... that's what I have to say. Didn't mean to offend anyone. I guess I agree to disagree with you all, all we're doing now is butting heads.

Vert seems to have been revitalized as Freth pointed out. I just hope his new found enthusiasm is self-wrought. Like I stated in his heart of hearts he knew he was not doing the community any justice by being inactive. I want what is best for the community. Whether you believe that or not is entirely opinion, much like my opinion of Vert doing the job poorly. For now I am going to lay off Vert and watch what happens.

Ko, I believe that although we disagree on this one point (and im sure many others to follow), I know you will have the heart to fight for CH. I will never lay down for anyone, unless I feel that not fighting will get the best results.

Now for the rest of the original post. Did we ever get our answers for "Know your role" from TH. Did we get our top 10 answered?

I don't think we can lay all the CH problems on Vert, he's justa messenger.

Ireally thinkthese positions were set up to get some heat off TH and the other Devs, and by the by, it works. It doesn't seem to matter how vocal a Correspondent is, they'll be ignored as much as the next guy. If the Devs aren't focused on your classat the time, then correspondent or not, you won't be heard until they choose to listen.

All I'm saying is don't write the guy off because Sony doesn't seem to listen to him, I doubt they'dlisten to anyone elsedoing the job either, unless it was their "turn" to be listened to...

I completely believe the correspondents should be SOE employees. I mean no disrespect to the volunteer corresondents. They after all, are trying to help the communities for no other reward but help the game and the community. But... we need dedicated individuals for these forums and for the profession. These people should litterally be PAID to play those professions and interact with the community to help bring these issues to the developers and Thunderheart.

I would not want ANY of the correspondent jobs. I come here to play the game and to be entertained. Not to work. Durring beta, I had no problem submitting endless bug reports. I am a paying customer now. I understand that I have to help the developers help me, but the onus is on them to get the problems fixed, not me to file countels repetitive bug reports.

If you want to start a motion, get SOE to hire professionals to do the correspondent jobs. Not volunteers.

Actually, I rather have the correspondents not be SOE employee. It's better to have a player be one, this way he can experience what everyone else being a CH experiences.

I mean, think about it, if the CSR are doing cruddy job overall (there are some good CSR, but majority of them have no clue what the heck is going on), what makes you think an SOE employee becoming a correspondent will be? ^_^
