Thread: Here's A NEW Idea for CH, has anyone thought of Breeding? (Poll, all MCHs chime in!)

Zip, since the most recent corral thread before the proposal we have definitely tried to make sure we pulled in someone to eithre be reliant upon or rely upon us. I think since SOE wishes there to be interdependencies that we should write anything with that in mind. If there cannot be then that is ok too. We are trying to find a market. And there are days I can handle not being uber. This is the kind of plan, Corral leading to breeding effect pets for other classes that would really make me play my MCH again. I will not shy away from the fact. He is there and I take him out to stay familiar with the profession.

Commandos getting plasma cannons as you say be mounted on tortons with the proper carapace. Maybe the plastron needs to be so thick for the proper mounting bolts. All this can be scientifically explained in some detail without over doing it.

Armor is just armor to some. But maybe the wrong mounts just cannot take certain heavier types of armor or cannot dissipate the heat properly.

There is a whole avenue to be explored here.

Vert, I know one of my favorite things in the useful commands is the /rescue for medics. This allows some dog/quadraped to drag incapped players from combat. There are sniffer dogs for eithr BH or Surveyers. ETC ETC. I at one time tried to compile them all. It is just too much. And I cannot find a way to cut and paste and then remove all the tables at once to make it easier.

Well I am gonna get in some playing time. But I for one feel the last 2 weeks are the most productive I have seen on the forum. My hats are off to all of you for making it better. Making each suggestion stronger. And when it is not workable finding the new solutions.

"Rangers being unable to fulfill their role as the ultimate hunters & creature resource providers (due to high skill point investment and diminishing returns on +creature harvesting) is currently a huge issue."

This is a pretty circular issue right now. Rangers aren't able to fulfill their role, thus driving meat/hide/bone prices through the roof. Thus motivating me to request a meat/bone/hide production facility (the corral). Thus making rangers angry. To me, the ranger issue is about as borked as the CH issue. The devs don't really know what rangers should be. I think the rangers' biggest problem with harvesting is that I can grab novice scout and some uber combat professions and collect as much or more resources than they can simply by sheer volume of kills.

The way I see it, if you're using a harvesting structure, the system doesn't care what your skill level is. Thus, novice artisans (and even some without artisan) can drop a harvester and generate as many resources as a master. There is an extreme imbalance in the system when you can generate 10k flora, mineral, or chemical in the same time it takes to get 1k of creature resources. So, to me, a creature harvester only makes sense. Now, it stands to reason that creating a structure like that would benefit (or even require) the contributions of a ranger, a CH, and an architect.

I think that rangers as a profession would be better off as "ultimate hunters" than as resource gatherers. Give them +100 creature attackand defense by the time they hitmaster and the problem would be nearly solved. In PvCreature, they would beat the best non-ranger combat template out there. This means big cash from destroy missions as well as ancillary income from harvesting.

Ah, the interconnectedness of all things.

Vert,

As a way of bumping this and answering your concerns at the same time. I would like to see the slave collar brought back. I forget where it dropped at but it could be changed to a schematic. CH or another class could manutacture this. Tamers could then supply to rancher type via a collar that keeps babies in suspended animation. Much like the box trap I have asked for in the Corral thread would supply the Adults of the rest of CL70 and lower. This allows those CH's who want to take to stay busy in the field and the rest creating for the lack of better words Utility Pets.

Ty,
I want to apologize for suggesting other than you intended. I have tried and tried to think of something that could be breed stat-wise that is not done by BE already. Other than real non-stats like size and movement I am blank.

Another thing i think you should consider is that rarer creatures, like frenzied graulswould only have maybe one or two babies in a litter, whereas very common creatures like gorgs would have ten.

Nice to see this post back to the top and strongly support this post. I dont think this would step onto Bio engineers domain because they manipulate dna and then put a finished product in deed form. Creature handlers would first off have to control the creature that is being produced and then raise the creature.

i dont want to turn my back and find my angler mating with my little bearded jax! can you imagine

the ugliness of that litter of babies?
