Actually Sadnebula, there have been MANY light hearted threads that come on here everyday. Anytime someone makes MCH, anytime someone tames a rare, heck, I've had many posts where I've tamed a very common pet but was estatic cause I finally reached that level.
It only seems that the "bashing" and "flaming" threads are more lived is because everyone seems to have to make a comment on them, that and they tend to stay on the front page longer. But these type of threads usually only happen ever so often.
I for one have only ONCE made an insult type remark, and that was in this thread. If you see many of my others, I have defended the Devs and have make my stand against them, depending on the situation. For those that choose not to post in the forums due to these posts that are flamming in nature, that is there choice. But if you do not speak up one way or another, then you have no right to complain about henderences.
I for one am glad people speak up, be it a flame i.e., some of the recent posts, or be it informative i.e. most of Tivo's, and even one's of concern, like your's here. But when a situation causes one of the "Leaders" of our community to up and leave, meaning Pem, then something is wrong.
Pem and I had a slight disagreement recently and I will admit, I was very childish. And I don't blame him for putting me on his ignore list, I would have done the same thing. I still respect Pem, because they (don't know if Pem is male or female) always spoke with concern and never really spoke ill of anyone. To see Pem post something with a bit of a fire struck me oddly. It just makes one wonder why?

Even with out the Insults, we never got a responce of any kind. And not all of us dear Sadnebula have posted "insults." And yes, just because we pay to play does not give us the right ot insult, but the FACT that we pay to play the game means we should get some sort of information on something that has been, in the dev's terms "balanaced" when all else is "unbalanced" for almost a year. It's been a month if not more sense this "Geneva Convention," and still no word. Nada, nothing, zilch. Any information, even a little bit would be more than we have ever gotten in this forum.
Now, I can't say that if TH or even Tiggs now were to post here that they wouldn't get a fire ball launched at them, but if they at least gave us some recognition that we are not being bagged up and tossed into the river, that would make a few of us veterains, (yes, I am a veteran, just signed up on the forums a bit late) happy. That's all we are asking for, is it too much to ask? After the past 9+ months, I guess it is.
That's my 2c worth, take it for what you will.

Umm. Cause he is *PAID* to be thrown under the bus? Really the point is TH is (or I thought was) and adult. He is or should have expected to be dealing with adults AND KIDS. He needs to have a tough skin, be immune to insults, be able to recognize even subtle insults, have a good bedside manner, and a few other things. This would be good for his career. Good for SOE. etc. An ex-or-current school teacher would be good in the position. I am often asked in game personal info which I usually do not give out. There is even a TLA(3 letter acrynim) for the request but I forget what it is. Now as to the anger you see here. It did not come to this easily. There has been a long series of abuses (nerfs
and a long time trying to petition for redress of grievences. TH and others are *paid* to chat with us in these forums. The fact that they do NOT speaks a bit about their character. Their desire to come in here and face us is of no relevence. They are *PAID* to come in and face us. Here means all of the forums.Quick hot fix. Put the Candle back. Un-Nerf us till you are ready to balance *ALL* the combat professions.
Oh and please put back the strength to the wild creatures to. It is really sad to see 4-5 enraged rancors all attacking at once fall at the feet of a single lone player and in a matter of minutes(1-2 min). The player was NOT a CH btw and was not using any form of the Force that I could see.

P.S. IRL with the weapons we have in game a rancor should be a 1 shot 1 kill operation but that is not the game mechanics

I would love to see what the cor's have to sign before getting this job, granted its a volunteer thing but it seems to me they can either be sued and are afraid or just plain lack the conoli's to act and put themselves on the line for us. I'd rather one banned for putting the fight to them than simply sit back and say yes masterTH,

You know Wallach there was a time when I would have been right in there with the," this is crap, I want something" done now type posts that I speak against now. But time has a way of making you see things in a different light. I too see that that soe has not developed this game as I and many others would have liked it. My reaction was to stop playing it. I came back after several months. I will say that the way in which soe has handled this game has forever turned me away from any future mmorpgs with their brand on it. I simply think that they could do better at community relations and keeping in touch with their peers on the forums.
.... That said, Why do I oppose the bash and negitive posts that so many like to buy into on this forum? Because they are doing more harm than good. They put us in a very bad light in the gaming community. This forum is not know for information anymore, it is not known as a fun place to hang out, a place to come and to read and laugh and to enjoy. It is now known as the whinny a** ch's who can't get over things and move on. It is a place where when I tell a new ch to check the forum I get a " well, I dont read it, forums are supposed to help and i only see negative there" type reply. There is good advice and player's sharing of things posted here, But they are overshadowed by the endless parade of negative that spews from here. This turns all but the hard core away from our forums.
..The players that are playing ch now are the ones that enjoy it. The uber crowd has departed for greener fotm professions. It is time we old timers started taking care of our own. take this forum
to a place it has not been for sometime, a place we can gather and have fun. So soe didn't do as we liked, we're still here and we're still ch's. Time for a change people, time to move on with what we want in an adult manor, time to heal the wounds. Change will come, it has to. a mmorpg that does not change dies. For our wants to be addressed we need to perhaps go at it a different way and realize that rome wasn't built in a day. Support what we have, get the newbies to the forums, get other professions in line with us and then perhaps communication will open up. One thing for sure, the present plan of attack hasn't worked.

Bull, I've seen developers navigate and post in threads WAY worse than the most flamed, hate filled thread ever made here. My point is this, the community will always be willing to work with management.....up to a point. After that, bitterness and resentment set in. Look at it from the players perspective:
-How many times were we told something would happen at a specific time....and it didn't?
I mean, 90% of the professions in this game are broken and the developers seem content adding an expansion. TH, and the rest of the devs HAVE to realize that the game simply isn't improving. And the rate that it was improving, was equated to a snails crawl.
