Not panicking But yes, engaging in wild speculation because... well.. it's a toughnut to crackand and interesting one to think about (for better or for worse). Also... there's no real info to be had; and inan information vacuum, people are going to speculate. Just human nature. I'd rather speculate about all the things that could go wrong and not have any of it happen than pretend it'll all be moonbeams and rainbows.

in reading this thread i fail to see how rancors became the unsoloable...i would expect the unsoloables to be the GDK's, the Ns elders, the bluurg raptors..the juvie krayfts..not simple level 50 creatures..

it has been mentioned that if a lvl 50 becomes a powerhouse, there is no way we would be allowed to control it, so it seems the devs are in a tricky situation..perhaps it's too tricky and ch will be eliminated..

i am hoping for the best, but i can't help but wonder if the lack of information, is indicating, SOE is desperately hoping the can keep the current subscribers paying for as long as possible, knowing full well most will leave when the CU comes out..if they had that much faith in the CU, you would think they would be trying to sell it to the flood of people leaving swg for eq, and wow..

it is becoming more frequent i can't find a dr. in cnet..people are leaving..money coming into SOE is dwindling..i will be very impressed if they can pull this game out of the john

but remember,

ch was already ballenced against the combat revamp. so we should be left alone now. we've been ballanced for oer a year now......

i was a mch before the 1st big nerf. somewhere i have a cool screen shot of the bugged time when you could call every pet you had. 15 pets , 2 storm commandos, and a at/st

"While reading the rest of the posts I had an idea which was brought up by someone shortly after I thought of it, the skill points would be a great way of making CH balanced. If you need say Master Scout, maybe some Ranger as a prereq. for CH then you won't have enough points to master a combat profession. And if they change the combat professions so you really only get the good stuff at master, the way it should be IMO, then you'll only be adequet in combat, not great. "

To be fair and ballanced Then no one should be able to master any TWO combat professions, not just a single out CH yet again....

It depends on how powerful Creature Hanlder is though, if it's true that a CH could take on multiple people just by sicking a Rancor on them and running away then maybe we can allow mastering of two combat professions while limiting CHs to not mastering any other profession (this could run thefear of dabbling in CH to be the ultimate template). I had in my mind that Creature Handler > any Combat Profession for the CU... maybe an exception in Commando. It may not even be an issue as we may find ourselves even weaker (not likely cuz I have confidence in the CHs in alpha and beta stages), in which case it'd be a bad thing if we couldn't also master TK or Rifleman or Carbineer or whatever profession tickles our fancy.

But balance will be key, and I doubt skill point allocation will be part of what is in this balance. Why ruin the fun for those who wish to be both TKM and Master Weaponsmith just because we can't have people be both TKM and Master Swordsman? It just might be they make defense stacking uselss, maybe the pistoleer dodge won't stack with fencer dodge,so you'll need a fencer weapon to use the fencer dodge and same for pistoleer.

I can't wait to get more information on this, I love the HAM revamp information sent to us, makes me hungry for info.
