Thread: Settle the Heck Down, pets WILL be fixed.

Honestly, have all of you given up that easily? I realize that with the latest patch that some creatures have been converted to lvl 1 (0), and I realize that at this time pets are useless in PVE and PVP. Complaining, whining, and moaning is not going to get this fixed. Still with me? Here is what we need to do.
Send in a /bug report with as much information as you can. In fact, encourage quality assurance to contact you by providing them email or hours that you will be online. If you are willing to help them, I am pretty sure we can all knock this bug out fast. Don't spam their /bug inboxes, limit bug reports to 1 every 24 hours or so per bug. Post in the days issues thread, this is probably the closest we can get to getting this fixed. The more Creature Handlers that post in there, the better. Keep bringing up the problem. As an extra measure send in a ticket with the problem and contact information. If you are willing to help them, I am pretty sure we can all knock this bug out fast. Limit tickets to 1 a day.
Lets look at it from Sony's viewpoint for those who are still reading, shall we?
- Sony cannot ignore the CH fanbase if thousands report this issue.
- Why would you leave in a game breaking bug anyways?
- They are listening, they are willing to help. Properly use the tools provided and it will get fixed.
- They did not Nerf us, this is a bug. If they nerfed us, they would have said something.
So for all of you cry babies out there, work with fellow players and development to have the problem solved. Constant bashing, whining, and bickering WILL NOT get the problem fixed. Sorry Sony didnt catch it during TC, there arn't enough testers playing anywho. What are you waiting for? get bug reporting! We can get this fixed!

SOE knew about this bug before they moved the code. I can excuse a bug that gets put in bacause they didn't know about it. Those things happen. I can't excuse a bug they knew about and moved anyway.
If SOE cared anything about CH, this bug would never had been put it. Apparently a glaring and fatal bugwith petsjust wasn't important enoughto get anyone's attention. I don't think you realize just how bad this is.

Ok "mister the sky isnt falling" pray tell when will I be able to use my pets again?
And if these folks are so kind, gentle and caringWHYdid they even let such a thing make it to LIVE????
You know what? My pets fight for me AND BY GOD I'M GONNA FIGHT FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So when will this MAJOR SCREWOVER BE FIXED? TOMORROW? FRIDAY? NEXT WEEK?
NEXT MONTH? you have all the friggin answers so answer me that.
AND THEN TELL ME AGAIN WHY I SHOULD LIKE THIS?
wake up - sony knew this was going live AND THEY STILL DIDN"T HAVE THE COMMON
COURTESY TO SAY SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF:
We are aware of a problem that unintentionally nerfed most pets - please don't panic as this
was unintended and a fix is in the works and we expect this bug to be fixed in X number days.
Your patience is appreciated and we realize this is a major inconvenience for those CH's who
were looking to take advantage of double XP week and you will be compensated accordingly.
Again accept our deepest apologies for this and know you are a very vauled customer and your
continued support and input means a great deal to us.
NO INSTEAD THEY STAY BEHIND THEIR STONEWALL OF SILENCE - LET EVERYONE GET
UPSET AND THEN WONDER WHY PEOPLE LEAVE-
THEY DONT KNOW CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM A DAMN HOLE IN THE GROUND.

It is. Please settle down people, this is an issue that can and will be fixed. Set your prides aside for a few days and help get this fixed.
So let me see. (Logical thought indeed
) The bug was reported within minutes of its arrival on the Test Center. Multiple people including me reported it to many threads. So it can be fixed is true. It will be fixed is speculation on your part. The hard evidence (It went live) is that it won't be fixed anytime soon.
You want to take bets on when it will be fixed?
I wish I had some pride left to set aside ![]()

Of course, you have to think about it from a few sides. I really don't think they were ignoring us. Not too many people play test center bro, maybe Sony did not catch it. Now that it is on live servers, use the tools provided and help them get it fixed.
This guy really is new here.
The fact that not many people play TC strengthens OUR case against the DEVs not yours. They managed to fix other bugs we reported. Why did they fail
to fix this one. Suppose it were light sabres now only able to hit for 1-2 pts and could be disabled by a single shot from a novice marksman. How long in SECONDS would it take to get them to hot fix that IN THE TEST CENTER let alone live.

Since the original poster put a link to this thread from mine, I'll return the favour:

Now as to the why.
I've played all of Sony's games for quite a few years now (Everquest 5 years ago) and from thier behaviour in other games as well as this oneI know darned well what get things fixed.
The only time SOE have ever taken account of customer reaction is in the face of mass cancellations. It happened in EQ, it happened hereto a lesser extent with publish 5/6.
I'm not doing this lightly. I'm not even slamming the door on it being fixed (if it is I'll resubscribe). I'm fully aware that all software has its problems and the users are very intolerant, since I work in IT myself (20 years as programmer, analyst programmer, database guru).
That said - if I'd ever let something like this get through testing and on toa live server, I would have been fired (and possibly face cost recovery litigation).
As it is, we haven't even had an official acknowledgement of the problem (i.e. a post from an SOE employee).
We had another last-minute-bugfix which so similar to this, that there was some confusion that led to our thinking that fixing that bug resolved this issue.
I don't mean to offer that as an excuse, I just want to explain what happened.
I'm really sorry this made it to Live. We're working on a fix and we'll get it to you as soon as we can.

I am betting the 3 CH in my guild including me are cancelling our accounts. I hung on after the CU enjoying a little wild taming to keep me going, and buying RotW to add interest to my game and keep my mind off my poor pre-CU BE pets. Now all that effort and money has proven to be wasted.
For the days I have left, I am going to bug and ticket and forum comment till I expire. Will they care? They won't give a toss.

I never said to be patient, I said to calm down and help rid of the bug off live servers by using the tools we have to fix the problem. I dont know why Sony never caught it on the TC and I agree, they should have, but they did not. Focus on what we can do now to get rid of it.
But they DID catch it on TC. It was an oft reported bug. They (according to our Correspondent (Good job btw. wish the devs seemed 1/10th as responsable as the correspondents) the DEVs acknoledge that this bug is there. We can stop bothering to report it now? I really have my doubts if it will matter to them either way
They will fix it when they feel like it and we are not Jedi or BH so it is not likly to be soon
