I guess its mentality. I havent spent one minute rare hunting, so i dont have any. Its bad enough the insane amount of letdowns ive experienced playing this game. Why would someone go looking for that kind of misery? All it would accomplish for me personally is getting closer to the inevitable cancel account tab. Repeating the same mission over 100's of times?? Dunno, dont mean to be rude...but...i think there are more constructive ways to spend time. I think i have to apologize to Tivo, think i posted something like this in the beginning of the rare hype, nothing personal, just think its bad game design. Shrug...Diablo 2 had the whole rare find thing going on - its an addictive thing I can do without.

I think that the rarity of this beast would be a little more acceptable if it were that much more powerfull then a regular rancor. Asside from it's plague strike special it is nothing great.

I gave up looking for rares, only rare I've ever found was a thune guardian grassland, which I'm suprised has no light armor at all for a DL 40 creature, while a thune herder has light armor.

I don't pull out my pets half the time now, I'm really on the edge of dropping it and going for doctor or something, have a bunch of skill points to me that's just idling. The only main reason I have it is hoping they end up compensating us for the changes, some sort of compromise, and that as a wookie, it just seems fit to be a CH.

But I'm loosing faith. ^_^

Either add more rare variation, or just drop the rare bit, since even our bull rancor overall is mostly a collectable item. Great for people who want to collect things, but even then it gets tiring.

Rare means RARE. We've been spoiled as CHs due to two things that are pretty much the result of the infancy of the game: A limited number of types of tamable pets and the ease with which you could find any of the availables. The devs are starting to correct that situation by expanding the number of pets available to us and putting a few rare nuggets out there for us to run across. We're too used to saying "I want a Rancor" then being able to go straight to Dathomir and taming one. It was as easy as shopping for toothpaste at Target. A bull rancor baby is rare, it should stay rare and we need to adjust to the idea that not every creature we want to tame is going to be immediately available to us at will.

SPOILED? SPOILED?!?! HOW THE HECK WERE WE SPOILED?

What, the fact our pets are even more useless now?

That CH has all of a sudden just became more of a collectable profession where we use our pets just for show? Oh great, how long you think that will last? The rareness is absurd, not including the fact that we are VERY limited on the rare creatures we can tame.

I'm sorry, I was even excited about all the NEW rare creatures that's suppose to be UBER, but when it was put into action, it became more of a flop. Our range and special don't work right at all (having to do a stinking macro for it and takes about 5 seconds for it to go through is absurd).

Sorry, but I like the fact that only 12 people have found them so far. Personally, this is what I thought the Jedi system would be like - everyone has the opportunity, but not everyone actually gets one.

12 people out of 5,000 subscribers or more who has a bull rancor baby? Yet there's more Jedi's popping all over the place (I think there's already like 50 on our server). You have a better chance of going for a FS slot then finding these so called "rares" which way unbalanced.

And even then, I could smack down a bull rancor in 30 seconds solo without a pet... =x

I'd really like to see the baby bull rancor very rare. I've been looking for one for 2 months but I'm enjoying myself in the process. I bring along friends so we can chat and they harvest hides/bones that they can use. I really don't think the developers inserted the baby bull rancor into the game just so people could eventually get one through a repetitive process. Obsession can be a good thing, but the obsession to obtain a baby bull rancor at the cost of "grinding" through over 200 lairs doesn't sound like any fun to me. This is why I bring company along with me, so I can laugh and have a good time even if things don't pan out. I'm sure the developers hoped to insert excitement by having us accidentally stumble into one when we least expect to, not to get frustrated because we've done something X number of times and demand to get one because of that. Think of it this way, when you eventually do get your baby bull rancor, you'll feel a very strong sense of accomplishment. That's how I felt when I eventually got my two screechers and two widows.

P.S. I know you probably already know this, but I'm going to mention it anyway. There are actually 9 rancors per bull lair - not 3. Kill the first three and tap. Three more appear. Destroy those and tap until about halfway. The last three show up. The best chance to spring a baby is actually in the second round, but hey, that's just my personal opinion not fact.

1) Yes, SPOILED.Examples: crying becuase they nerfed our petsdown to a reasonable power level after we all got used to being uber pretty effortlessly. Crying because you can't go out and get the pet you want in under an hour.Taming a Graul Mauler was like shopping for milk at the grocery store. If you wanted one, it took no effort to get one. Now it takes a little more effort to find an uncommon pet. Effort = challenge = reward = fun.

2) Ch hasn't been turned into a collectables profession, it's been turned into a profession that is more in line with other combat capable professions. I'm sorry if you occassionaly get incapped because your pets aren't indestructable like they were.

3) As a master CH, I followed the discussion leading up to the reballancing of our profession very closely and never at any point did TH or any other SOE reps say that rare pets would be uber pets. If you want to tame an uber pet, call a BE. If you want a truly rare wild pet, keep looking, but don't hunt for it expecting it to be the neutron bomb of tamable pets because no one has given you any reason to believe that it should be.

First trying to find one is next to impossible. Then trying to tame it?

Sorry I don't see myself being spoiled. I'm being pretty patient especially when the cmds we have are broken. I've been all for the distributions on the skills to prevent all the dabblings. I was all for the rare pets and how they redistributed the stats to balance it more. I was all for the killer new cmds we would get to compensate for the nerfs on the creatures. But how is it balancing when you have someone that's just a Novice TKA that can take down a rancor? A pet that only a Master CH is supposedly able to control (unless you wear some BE clothings) that can get demolished in a minute..

So yeah I have a right to speak out about it. ^_^

Also want to include that we NEED MORE RARE pets... thanks.
