Thread: Elite Pets are no more =(
K so i dont know how to edit a post but since im still fuming i need to bring up a point to all the people whining about the 3 nargs ONLY A MASTER CAN USE ALL 3 we are talking 106 skill point people to call out all 3 nargs which is why they are not cheats!!!
consider them aproton carbine only masters have these certs; so what our certs are 3 lvl 22 cats big woop our weopons are bigger doesnt mean they are better. my bios have better regen (which makes a BIG difference) but they are cool looking and they are effective but i would hardly say they were better than a proton carbine, quit complaing
If this goes live, I will seriously consider giving up CH ... this is just not right

With todays patch to TC Prime, allof the elite pets have been turned into normal pets. No more extra ham or attack. Elite chevrons are gone from their ham bars etc. The clhas been fixed though, so they allare correct in that aspect. Just another change that makes no sense at all and takes something unique away from our profession.
PS. There is a brand new interface for training pets now. When you select "train" from the radial menu, a new interface opens up. It shows in order, the commands available to you and the command you have taught your pet for each command listed. It adds two clicks to the training process slowing it down considerably.

If they eliminate ALL elites from the game, it would be a good thing. Mainly because elites are a cheat. The elites have higher H than other mobs of their level, but only yield standard XP for the level. They're a cheat by the devs, a return to their old, bad habits of making things harder to kill but not increasing the reward for doing so when their "looks good on paper" plan runs into the reality of players who the developers consistently underestimate and NEVER learn from previous underestimations.
But of course, that's probaby not what happened here, only the tamable elites are affected by this.
Word! It also robs BE of its opportunity to create tailored and special pets for our CH friends. I think it would be fine to be able to sample elites and offer the superior resulting product to CH instead of CH just happily grabbing their own super pets for free.
Thats not to say there cant be elite tameables, but BE cant compete with them at the moment and thats bogus.
RED ALERT!!!
Have any of you noticed the note about pets not listening to commands as a known issue? Remember that they knew about pet stat alterations for patch 19 before they pushed it to live? I think we're about to get slammed with another crippling bug where our pets now have reasonable stats, but are dumb as hell.
Oh lord help us...

I'm tired of complaining and I am tired of reading complaints. I am upset about all the screw-ups with this profession and highly dissapointed with each patchand it's constant reintroduction ofreoccuring bugs. Feels kinda like working with a high-school computer class trying to change and recompile the code for Netscape.
This next patch is my last stand on CH. If they cannot get this one right, my hope spring is dry and CH will be no more for me. Been waiting for some time now for this 'new specials system'. Meanwhile, my CH (+ crafting profession) is worthless and I do not play him anywhere but in crafting (which is severly borked as well).
Narglatch females were really the only usefull tools available (in the wild) for CH. Other pets I occasionally use: Reclusive Sheer Mite, a Bull Rancor, a GSH etc. None are as effective as (3) nargs.
The elite status granted to them and their higher ham stats helped greatly to allow the CH to be mildly effective. Noone should look at it like an exploit however. As a level 56 CH using Enrage and Embolden on my (level 22) pets along with a lvl30 Probot with regen rarely could take down anything 2 levels higher than myself (grouped). More often the pets would die (or some die and the others stop attacking) and I end up dead. They did however allow me take down creatures/NPC's my own level fairly consistently. Try using them against a level 80 spawn.... everybody dies.
Now due to the fact that the Dev team does not communicate with player base (an odd policy - look around even at other SOE games), we are only left to guess if this nerf bat was intentional, or just another 'oversight' by the Dev, QA and Management team. This lack of communication is actually the core of the problem I think and serves to extinguish the flames of hope - or fan the flames of fury when things go wrong (over and over) and there is noone actively taking responsibility or even explaining the reasoning behind the changes.
Heck even our dedicated Correspondent Ko-Airi is left in the dark about major changes to the profession. I am really feeling stupid for continuing to pay for this, but if I am honest about it, I admit that I am still able to find fun things to do in SWG, just not with my CH character ![]()

Well, since no one else has seemed to notice, or post the information, I'll post a wee bit of an update here, so that a few people can stop playing the 'Let's jump to conclusions' game....
It would appear that the beginnings of the new pet specials system are on the way to Test Center. Don't take my word for it, take a look at this Screen shot. Pay close attention to the top left hand corner. There is a listing for Trainable Abilities, Training Points, and Training XP. These values would appear to be consistent with information a certain DEV commented on, not too long ago in this forum.
Something else to contemplate, before jumping off the gun, is the fact that Babies are currently wonky on Test Center. Their Levels are not CL1 as they should be. They appear to have the same CL as their parents. If I recall correctly, this same issue was what broke the Elite tamables last time around, before it hit Live.
And for the last bits of information....
The new training window looks like this. This pop up menu comes up when the train option is chosen. When the pet is trained, each command will be listed in the window, like so. I disagree with the comment on the new interface making the training process longer, since it is now much easier to train each command, since you can open the interface box up and leave it there, without having to keep a finger on the ~ key or keeping your mouse button clicked.
Currently, on Test Center, newly tamed pets are not responding to any trained commands. I'm 100% certain that this is due to the upcomming changes that should be hitting TC in the next few days, that will change how the pets are trained and how specials are learned.
I'll try to keep posting more information as I discover it. It does look like the pet system revamp, that was mentioned is in the process of being added to TC in stages, so everyone needs to wait a few days and take a lesson from your pets.... /tellpetowner Trick1.
Forgive us for our sceptisism.
YAY! someone who thinks the same as me but far more elo.. ela.. elu... eloqu..... well spoken

And I'll bet you $50 that this bug makes it live.

Perhaps, as it was suggested in another thread, this is a precursor to the new specials/taming system.
While it was a good call on SOEs part to add known issues with the Publish in the Publish Notes, perhaps they can extended this new found communication style to advising the profession (either the correspondent or the community at large via a post). It would calm the waters considerably if we knew that these were stages we had to go through and an estimated timeframe.
Now to have my BE make some pets on TC since there are no babies and then have my CHwait for the next publish to train them (fingers crossed).

what i dont understand is the why behind this nerf.
first the give us elites (did they really think we wouldnt use them??) a bug happens that makes the elites normal, shokingly they fix this bug (quickly even more shocking) so we get them back now they defiently know we are using them so now if im reading this right and this was intended they are taking elites away??
ok so i know alot of other proffessions are complaining about the nargs but they are elites which we were told are intended and as someone (sorry cant remeber who) made a good point other profs get uber krayted T-21's and what not how is it a cheat or an exploit to use our own uber weopons!!!
to the devs MAKE UP YOUR MINDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That makes me think, if a bug in the past has 'gotten rid of' elite pets and it was fixed, maybe it is a reocurence of the old bug that's been triggered when they messed around with the new training system?
Every patch since CU so far has seen reocurences of old bugs, the latest being the UI not updating when crafters experiment.
Maybe this is the same and they're not trying to get rid of elites at all?
Think about it, sounds logical to me, i'm holding out hope until we hear/see for sure after it's live ![]()
