I find it interesting that no one understands why you cant attack from a mount now.

Ok, pre-cu we could do basic attacks from a mount, no specials, in other words as long as you auto attacked (back then this was the attack you did while on aggro stance no need to push any buttons but also comepletely weak and almost useless) Therefore, I have surmised that the reason we cannot attack now from mounts is because ALL of our attacks are now considered specials. I would bet they never even paid attention to this and overlooked the programming and its probably still like it was pre-cu so it sees any attack you do as a special as such.

So, if they just updated the programming to allow for basic attacks allowable while sitting on a mount (like melee hit, or ranged hit or whatever they are called) then you would once again be able to attack from a mount. I dont know how difficult this would really be to program but it honestly doesnt seem like it would be all that hard just a small tweak.

I also want to add, that there was a in concept note once asking what kind of things people wanted to see pertaining to mounts. One of the things asked was if we wanted to be able to attack from a mount.

Also, I have thought about this and the way things are now, even with a basic attack (like melee hit) you still hit pretty hard, but if your mount is as slow at walking as you are (and we must remember cannot attack while you are sitting on him only u can) then i dont see why this would be imbalancing to reimplement as you really still wouldn't be faster than anyone else.

I dont know though. Thats what I've seen as I used to attack stuff from a mount when i was newb 2 years ago just cus it seemed cool haha

Mounted combat was never really effective...it was something that most people did while in a large group and they could just do their normal attack and still get by...it just wasn't useful for much else. It was, however, just extremely fun and cool. There is something cool about riding around on your cupa or bantha and shooting at some sand people...it's just plain fun.
