While the spam speicals are a bit annoying, someone telling you to stop using the skills because of a bit of spatial spam needs to find another game. Spatial spam is part of any MMO I've ever seen.

No, only if you're ready to ignore yourself because of it. :-P

Sure, the spatials annoy me some too, but once the fighting actually starts I pretty much ignore any spatial chatter anyway. There's enough to focus on between groupchat, tells, and managing my skills and such.
