Thread: DOH! I just spent 15mil on that pet....

They aren't pre-nerf, they were never useable in original form. They are a byproduct of a patch, something that really was never intended to happen anyway.
Marbari Belts and Ubese shirts are pre-nerf, because they were intended to be able to hold armor attachments at one time. Do they still need to be fixed? In my opinion, not until all clothing gets the same. All clothing attachments are permanent in the system as it is now, armor attachments should be no different. If anything, those items that previously held armor attachments should be made to again, until they make it so that any clothing decayed to 0 is not wearable/does not grant mods. Both need to be fixed, screwing armor attachments but leaving clothing attachments forever permanent is not an answer.
Is using those prior armor attachment holding clothing items an exploit? Sure. Would I expect anyone using these to sometime in the future get screwed? Sure. I admit that I have 1 ubese shirt that has a +10 to thrown weapon accuracy. I don't expect to keep that forever, and I don't expect to get anything in return for it when it is fixed.
These pets are exploits in the same way. The only difference is that there is little attachment to a shirt or a belt, but perhaps you have some to a pet, not because its uber powerful (which it is, a level 1 pet with more HAM than half the creatures in the game is powerful, regardless of whether its more powerful than everything or not), but because it is your companion. I wouldn't see any harm in balancing these pets, rather than simply making them unusable. I have sympathy for that. But at the same time, you are exploiting in a minor way, so I would not expect to see anything from it. I personally would, but in the eyes of the devs maybe there isn't as much compassion.
puzzling intellect. The point is, they can never be made again, they are the weakest pets in my datapad until combat rebal and should stil be special, they were very hard to come by and should be special like a legendary kraty t21 or something.
That is the point, and they were pre nerf, just like the belts. The belts worked that way until they were nerfed. Same as the be 1(0) pets, then they got nerfed and now no more can be made like that, pre nerf has nothing to do with the fact that they hold attachments, it is that they NEVER decay.
At any rate, the be pets were NOT an edploit, they were made (even by mistake ind you) and they put an end to it. There are no more, and they are VERY VERY rare.
I doubt you have ever had one in your datapad. If you did you would know they were inferior to any level 22 razor cat with 60% ken and intim. They were not a big issue to me impact wise on the game, unless again, you dont have one.
Now I just have them in my datapad, wish I could re dee dthem, cause I am down two pet slots as a result.

they should at least convert to an uber rancor with like 700dmg! geese!
HOW DARE THEY NOT LET YOU EXPLOIT THE SYSTEM!!!!
And there went your 30 seconds of dev attention for this year, btw ....

There is a big diff between pre nerf and exploit. These pets wer pre nerf, I had two level 1(0) rancors i have had FOREVER and the only people that complain about them are the folks that dont have them. Also, no non ch cannot call a rancor skin no matter the level.
ALSO, they were inferior to EVERY other pet in my datapad until the curb. I am just pissed for sentimental reasons.
I have had them forever and I can't even call them now, not that I ever used them but jeesh. They screwed me big time and I cant delete them as they were gifts.
So, every marabi armorweave belt with +20 rifle speed, every ubes shirt with +12000 meless defense should be nerfed as well.
This is a big @# to the devs.
ALSO,
WHY THE HECK are my
mantrigure screecher, gaping spider queen(S), prowling gurrek, arachne widow (if i had them bull rancor, frenzied graul, great plains stalker) not the ELITE best most uber pets in the game???
Do the devs not know how long I searched for those animals?

First off Ekaw, to just let ya know, I had a (0)1 rancor and never used it till the curb, cause that was the only way I could effectively use 2 pets, sense I couldn't use my twin grauls. Now that I can't use it, don't bother me really.
I do agree however that the "rares" from pre-curb are now worse off than the level 22 Elite pets. This is pretty lame if you ask me. Granted a pack of animals should have an advantage, but geez, a level 22 better than a level 50? Really don't make sense to me.
Another thing that agrivates me, correct me if I'm wrong, did they screw with the static spawns? I found TWO GPS on corillia the other night, killed the first one, waited patiently for the second spawn and low and behold, two Giant Carrion Spats showed up, TWO GIANT CARRION SPATS! What the heck is up with that? Give us a frickin' chance here guys.

Paying 15 mil for a pet is insane. Even if it's a 1(0) pet. I've owned quite a few myself and yes they were great, but worth 15 mil? lmao This is a perfect example of greed in the game. I don't feel sorry for anyone that would pay 15 mil for anything in SWG. I don't care what it is. Nothing in this game is worth paying 15 mil for.
geez..you sound like it's real money...it's imaginary money for imaginary items..lol
back when there were rare pets..an extinct pet could fetch that much..pre crub i would have easily paid that for a frenzied graul..and i know a collector that paid that for a bark mite burrower queen..
the lvl 0(1) is a collectors item and i have one, untamed, i keep for a display...i didn't pay much for it but i like rare items..paying a lot for somthing that you intend to use, but know will be removed is not too bright..but agin its not REAL money..hehe
the longer you play this game, credits have lessvalue and are easier to come by
All those that think I used that 1(0) blurrg are totally and utterly wrong. I never used it in combat as yes, I thought it a total exploit. But it was a nice novelty item. I guess it remains so but will never be called, just like all your 70+ pets that you used to be able to use. My kimo and gurreck tho will remain in deed forms and be proudly displayed.
BTW, I also have an extremely old and unique medical droid. One of the first created and back then allowed to be named... I never use it (like 45 health and all)but again it's a nice novelty item.

Its a new game, we all got screwed. I can't think of how many 10's to 100's of millions I've spent on uber stuff that is no longer of value or not useable. We can sit here and lament the 100's of millions we'd have today if we had hoarded credits rather than play what was the game at the time. It's a new day, lets just move on and recognize that some people benefited to different degrees depending on whether they kept credits or hoarded various loot and pets.
It might have been more fair to reset everyone to 5,000,000 credits and empty inventories, and call it a new day in a new game.
As for peeps who say "exploits," and are not sympathetic to another player who has suffered a loss as a result of this SOE beta-fest called SWG. That's pretty sad. We can all stand around and be critical of how each other enjoys the game, spends their credits, prioritizes, and takes advantage of the ebs and flows of the game that is constantly being tweaked, borked, nerfed, and changed under our feet. Seems that we'd be better off supporting our fellow players when they suffer a bump and a knock that resulted from SOE's constant mismanagement and poor project management. Why we need to dig and poke each other rather than SOE, is beyond me. Seems malignant and sadistic under the circumstances.
