Thread: DOH! I just spent 15mil on that pet....
We know that under the new system, "Level is King" -- that level determines EVERYTHING about a toon, be it NPC, creature, or player character -- what damage you can do, what weapon/armor you can use, what defense you have, how much health you have, etc. You can't honestly expect me or anyone else to believe you thought it was an intended design feature to make the lowest level pets in the game far more powerful than the highest level pets in the game. Or if you did, you were extremely naive.

I actually purchased him way back when he was a level 10 BE. I simply wanted a non-ch pet I could call and he was honestly the 1st one i ran across. Then he became too powerful for a non-CH to call. NP. I became a CH. Then I left the game for a year and came back after the CU. I was able to use him, but they said he was a level 50 pet. OK, cool, NP. Now update 17 says he has illeagal stats. I really have no problem with that, except that they give me no option to respec him. I don't care if he is nerfed to proper levels, just let me do it and be able to call him. That is all I ask - do something except give me a message that he is uncallable. Gee, I kinda even think it would be better if they just deleted him. At least I would have closure.
For the people who are crying over the 1(0) pets and no sympathy. I understand your schism toward peeps who wanted to exploit, but not everyone was exploiting - some of us just like our pets. I pait 5k for him way overa year ago, so I am not out $. But, he was my companion for many adventures. It will not be the same game without him.
Agreed ... but you cant realy knock the people who used the lvl 1(0)'s ... yes useing a pet like this is taking advantage of a bug
which is the exact definition of an exploit
Its this simple ...
Give us the pets ... make them have the level option that makes them the level they should be
I also prefer it to work
Where I know if my pet will come out too high
for example my lvl 1 gurreck would probably be around 60 if he got a level change
but my 600 damage rancor which is currently a lvl 50
would clearly go higher ... unfortunatley
but hey we dont even get the chance
I 100% agree with you that you should be given the option to scale your level 10 pet back to the proper power level and call him. Leaving a beloved pet "uncallable" with no possible remedy is not acceptable and SOE needs to fix this.

And a *ton* of sympathy for BE's, because who is going to pay good money for an 'elite' pet now, knowing we're always one patch away from it becoming fertilizer? The devs have never understood that the most important factor in keeping the player economy alive is consumer confidence ... you must know that what you buy today will have value tomorrow, and they have made that impossible ... again ...

Excellent point.

They aren't pre-nerf, they were never useable in original form. They are a byproduct of a patch, something that really was never intended to happen anyway.
Marbari Belts and Ubese shirts are pre-nerf, because they were intended to be able to hold armor attachments at one time. Do they still need to be fixed? In my opinion, not until all clothing gets the same. All clothing attachments are permanent in the system as it is now, armor attachments should be no different. If anything, those items that previously held armor attachments should be made to again, until they make it so that any clothing decayed to 0 is not wearable/does not grant mods. Both need to be fixed, screwing armor attachments but leaving clothing attachments forever permanent is not an answer.
Is using those prior armor attachment holding clothing items an exploit? Sure. Would I expect anyone using these to sometime in the future get screwed? Sure. I admit that I have 1 ubese shirt that has a +10 to thrown weapon accuracy. I don't expect to keep that forever, and I don't expect to get anything in return for it when it is fixed.
These pets are exploits in the same way. The only difference is that there is little attachment to a shirt or a belt, but perhaps you have some to a pet, not because its uber powerful (which it is, a level 1 pet with more HAM than half the creatures in the game is powerful, regardless of whether its more powerful than everything or not), but because it is your companion. I wouldn't see any harm in balancing these pets, rather than simply making them unusable. I have sympathy for that. But at the same time, you are exploiting in a minor way, so I would not expect to see anything from it. I personally would, but in the eyes of the devs maybe there isn't as much compassion.

Exact same situation. Mine was registering as a CL50 creature when I called it. Now I can't call it at all and didn't have an option in the matter. I just want the option to fix the pet, I don't care what her stats turn out to be.
