First off, Vert is an amazing cor. He tells us what he can and what he knows. If he doesn't thats not his fault; he's being kept in the dark by the devs. I am not very active but I do a lot of forum trolling and from reading his posts I can tell that he is telling us what he knows. Don't flame someone because the devs are keeping him in the dark. I your really angry flame the devs... I dare ya. They will ban you from the forums in an instant. If Vert went and ranted to the devs about how they are crushing the CH prof, he would be banned and fired in an instant. He is good at constantly keeping a cool head, and not losing his temper and ranting. In this quality he shows extreme moral superiority over you ranters.

FWIW, my statement that pet specials (other than poison, disease, and knockdown) were "working flawlessly" was made weeks ago and was in reference to the Live servers (not Combat Upgrade). It's kind of indisputable that they're currently not working in the CU, and I've been relaying that very visibly.

Hereare somenew phrases for you Vert, try saying them instead of "I have informed so and so" and"I am aware of the problem" :

1. "I don't know" -this replaces- "I have raised this concern with the devs and it will be discussed"

2. "I know but can't tell you" -this replaces- "I am sure this issue will be addressed in the future"

3. "you are right, it is broken" -this replaces- "Is this a real issue, has anyone else had this problem?" or would you prefer I post our discussions on creature specials?

4. "That will never change, get over it" -this replaces- "This issue has been discussed and they are working on a fix" also the first phrase as well "I have raised this concern with the devs and it will be discussed"

The simple fact is Vert, the reason I said you sound like Charlie Browns teacher is you never say anything. You spit out the same regurgitated company line every time. I have seen you speak like an actual person 5 times so far and each of those times I patted you on the back or helped defend your point(within reason). I will not ever blame you for innaction on the part of the development team. I will gladly stand in defense of you if you ever chose to be honest about these things. Until then though I will gladly stand in opposition to your spin doctoring.

So in answer to your question...if all you can say is "yes I read what you asked, please hold." then sure, say nothing. At least that is constructive for the fact that it is not deconstructive. Your little assurances mean nothing Vert, simply because you have yet to make good on them. We still have never recieved any real information we have ever asked for. I will go back and mark each post if you dare me.

I stand by my sarcastic humor. Proudly!

Here's someone that sees Vert for how worthless he is...

Agreed.

While I wouldn't go so far as to call HIM worthless I will concur that his job is worthless. We never recieve anything we ask for because they ignore his requests. I don't question his word when he says he is telling them about our problems. I question his fervor in doing so. If he is without passion in some of these issues I take offense at that. But as I have said before I bear no real ill will against the man. Except rare occasions when he tells me pet specials "work flawlessly". His words.

Btw I have decided to relax my critisism when I finally see one good, truthful, honest and heartfelt post of his that starts with..."Ok this is what I have found out...." Never seen it, never seen anywhere close to it. I will also accept a "I have asked them 10 times in the last 3 weeks and they still refuse to answer my questions..." post. Until then we will have to get our information from the sources we have come to rely on, good solid testing by our tight-knit community. Long live the animal lovers.

The sad fact is that the correspondant program is not about actually taking design suggestions or critiques from the players. It is purely a public relations spin and an attempt to 'manage' the player communites. They manage to find well meaning people among the players and use them to this end.

I am not saying that they don't ever find the correspondants as useful in understanding game mechanics that they themselves don't understand well. I am also not saying that they don't well understand that keeping the players happy in the game doesn't lead to continued subscriptions and therefore revenue. But anything short of subscription loss, you can easily see how the system is designed primarily to benefit them to a far greater degree then it benefits any individual player or group of players, such as this profession.

So I would have to say of the program: Expect nothing and then you won't be disappointed. The only thing that truely ever counts, just like every other purchase decision you make in the rest of life, is if you choose to make that subscription payment again next month or not. Like every other good business on the planet, management looks at the revenue and costs, and make decisions based purely on that. Everything else is just fluff.
