I counted to 66known glowing items so I think there will be 274,560 or more combinations, as in 66 * 65 * 64 (possibly 66 ^ 3). First slot can take anyone of the 66items, the second takes 65 orif duplicates are allowed that is 66, and finally the third slot 64, 65 or 66 depending on if duplets/triplets are llowed. Multiply and laugh

Worse is, every "cube-made" componentnecessary adds to the 66 known items, so 66 ^ 3 is a minimum

i looted a armor assembly ring off the foreman in the kubaza beetle cave. does this mean there's a possibility he'll drop the necklace too?

Could we please try to refrain from negativity for once in a forum thread ? One of the earlier posters made a very good point about looting and the cube being dual possibilities. This thread and the "flame" thread without the screenshot may both have some merit in unravelling the mystery of how we get this necklace and the comments from the Dev about his "rubix" might have some weight to them also. Consider this scenario:

- the necklace can be looted from uber bad guy Doombringer with an instant +10

- the necklace can be assembled via the cube and will start with +2, then this necklace could be added to other components in the cube to get an additional +2, if the existing necklace is used as a component in the next level of the necklace that would make the dev comments true also, from a certain point of view :-D

For those combat types with Jedi mates, the loot option gets you the instant prize with the full benefit. For the less fortunate CH (which if you read these threads appears to be the majority of us, me included) the cube alternative means we can get the benefits but at a slower pace.

I know none of this for sure of course, I am just putting forward a possible scenario that the devs may have thought of themselves when they rolled this expansion out. I sincerely hope that they also had the vision to make this item wearable by all species as anything else would be tantamount to a crime.

So lets just get about the process of discovery and solve this once and for all without degenerating the whole effort into a flame war.

i spent about 4 hours tonight hunting all the creatures in the middle to the north of the map. didn't loot anything cept the same stuff you get from kashyyyk, like creature brains and other body parts. i did get a little mini-quest from a heart to go kill 25 raptors. there is also a tulrus horn that gives a mini-quest. only reward was like 7k credits. i went in the facility to the NE where those two hard creatures are that are mentioned above with two jedi. we ended up running for our lives from them

-edit- i think ive done all the exploration and creature hunting quests, and no ch or 'glowy' items were looted or rewarded.

yeah, not at all surprised unfourtunately. I think the clues (still all we have) are all pointing in the same direction... there are 4 +10 wearable loot items on mustafar: DE ring, BE ring, WS ring and the CH necklace. 3/4 have been looted by either myself or another member of my guild within the last 72 hours. We've looted two WS rings, one off the kabuza beetle foreman, and one off the droid facility boss. the DE and BE rings were both looted off that same driod facility boss. the last of which, (still un-looted and un-confirmed) is the CH necklace. In true scooby doo fashion we're forced to follow what clues we have. +10 wearable loot? probably looted from the same things that drop the others, sigh...

thethird timewe killed the droid factory boss today he dropped a MBH lightning cannon with 800 max damage so go figure.

My guild sucessfully completed HK-47 today, (first on Bloodfin) *puffs chest* and we pulled some WICKED loot off that quest. i wouldnt put it past them to drop that particuilar loot somewhere among the bosses in that quest too. but if my money's on it....

I fear we may be focusing on the wrong direction for this item

Before this post we believed it was part of the cubeand I think we all embraced this post by Bloodfinkaars because it makes sense and it has given us alla target to focus on. Problem is that to my knowledge no one has gotten this item on Radiant by doing the above mentioned quests or killing the above bosses. There has to be an issue with this item in game as only the lava crystal hasbeen undiscovered and there is no way the CH necklace should be as uber rare as the lava crystal.

I will keep up the search but as the days go on and no one gets this item by the manner Bloodfinkaars described that in my honest oppinion would discredit that method of getting the necklace.

I too am questioning this method didnt one of the devs say we should be able to be tameing these things from day 1. Asfar as I can tell every quest has been done at this point, and nobody has gotten this necklace that I know of. I also have no doubt that if this trend continues CHs are going to go off the walls on the devs.

First I want to start this off by saying that for those of you who's pets are getting wasted, you really should go out and invest in a bunch of pet stims. Pet stims are a CH's best friend. As far as tanking goes, my main pet tanks like a god. Its tanking ability is so pivitol in a group that in many dungeons my pet is tanking the boss while the group works on clearing out the rest. Often we bring along an 8th person to ungroup when we get inside so the pet can get in the group and the 8th person's job is to spam bacta on the pet. My main tank has tanked tons of stuff w/o a problem. Here's a quick list of some of the worst he's tanked. Storm Lord, Devastator, Fixer, HK-Taskmaster, Factory Guardian, Kubaza Beetle Foreman. He's tanked many others but that's the short list of baddies. Pet is nothing special, he's a shear mite soldier with thick skin 3 naturally, aggression 3, vigorous health 3, lightning reflexes 3, intim 2, beastly con 1, 89/95 vit. The vast majority of the time that he loses vit isn't due to people not healing him, but because he's the last man standing when the other 7 people in the group, including myself, are dead.

Also as far as loots go. I've been going into the decrepit facility daily, sometimes twice a day, no luck on the necklace yet.

So far I've seenall the rings drop, be, de, ws, as, from various things, beetle foreman, factory guardian, droid commander in droid army. I'll continue these until everyone I know is sick to death of them!

Anyways, have fun, and go buy yourself some pet stims.

Well, not quite. Now that I look back on things, I think the first three items (the "barely glowing" cup, datapad, worklight) only show up during the cube quest as a demo for how it works. So there's only 63 items that can be looted "in the wild". Duplicate items do apparently show up in recipes (the "lava cannon" requires two glowing batteries), so that's 63 ^ 3. And order doesn't matter (at least that's what's getting reported), so you then divide 63^3 by the number of ways you can order three items: 3 * 2 * 1 = 6. So 41,674.5.

Actually, I just did some digging around on google (since that ".5" didn't make any sense), and it looks like the number of combinations of 63 items taken three at a time, with replacement, and order doesn't matter would be 65 * 64 * 63 / ( 3 * 2 * 1) = 43,680. I'm not entirely sure where that equation got derived from (it's been a while since my college statistics class), but that's the calculation this site uses.

43,680 isn't insurmountable, considering the number of players poking through the combinations. A single ant can't do anything significant to a slice of cake sitting on a picnic table, but a whole anthill can.One stumbling block is that I haven't seen any listing of combinations that don't work (the cube shakes and returns the components), so there's probably a lot of duplication of effort going on.

lol i would hardly call your sheer mite nothing special. it looks like its got the absolute best defenses a pet can have. i have yet to get any of my pets leveled that far up, or find the specials necessary to train. the amount of time it takes to level a pet up is a problem for at least some of us, were still working on building the tank pet that you already have.

on pet stims, all mine got one standard heal range of 250 points with the CU, which is fine after the battle, but not strong enough against elite mobs to keep him going, especially if there is more than one target attacking us at the time.

i have noticed however that my pets specials seem to stick way better on mustafar than they do on the other planets for some reason, now if i could just find imperiling feint L3 hehe.
