I hunted mostly paid missions and was constantly on the look out for static lairs. It took me a total of 235 combined lairs to find my Bull Rancor baby and have sense run about 150 in my attempt to find one for my Jedi.

honestly, the 250 lairs is not the bad number, it is the patience to tap each lair and not spawm kill everything that moves that mkes taming sucha SKILL in this game. It is the only true skill there is.
Honestly, I could kill 250 plus lairs in a week, but not killing hte baby rancor is the tough part.

very informative...but i will ask this:
you list the mutant higher than the enraged, but im 100% enraged are higher level. i had to grind guardian on dath, and mutants=850 exp, enraged 900, enraged bulls i think were 950. i do know tho, mutants were the lowest lvl of the 3.

My current CH will never see a rancor in any form (well, unless is BE). But, I did start a CH on Radiant that is more viable to be a "rare" hunter. I just have to get to work on him hehe.

Hmm,
I tamed one about 9 months ago, but never used it for PvP due to it's extreme rarity (took me about 700 lairs to get it). I also assumed that the PvP plague strike would be reduced (as damage is, etc) to nothing useful. My frenzied graul, even before being nerfed in PvE, had an areableed that worked well in PvE but was only a "tick" of one in PvP.
Was the plague strike as strong in PvP? Is it still? (I have yet to "adjust" his stats/level since the CU. Just sitting in the datapad at 100/100 condition)
