From reading the HoC chat, I was very disappointed in ToOW details, or the very few they decided to share.
What the Trials of Obi Wan DOES NOT include that we have been asking for for nearly 2.5 years.
1: No Hoth
2: No Bespin
3: No open planet like the original planets
4: No profession revamps or fixes
5: NO FRS
6: No capital ships
7: No new space zones
What we do get.
1: A blue glowie Obi Wan. Since no FRS, no real point
2: Planet Mustafar which was again like Kashyyyk NOT on anyone's wish list.
3: More quests like Kashyyyk.
4: Closed path planet like Kashyyyk and small.
Ok, who the heck is HUGELY disappointed?
/raises hand
Since being here day 1...I can say this game is dieing horribly. I definitely won't be getting this expansion. Give me some farging Episode 5 content!!! It's closer to the timeline!!!
I honestly give a dam in the timeline. For me this is a online social GAME, set in the Star Wars universe.
As stated in the stratics, they have many different teams working on different things. One team that fixes bugs (live team) and one team that constantly brings us new features, missions, quests and content! Just like this expansion!
Planet Mustafar is a QUEST planet. That means its not set for buildings. Compare the ammount of quests available on Mustafar with Corellia, and im sure Mustafar will have maybe just as much, if not more. Its not the size thats matter, but the ammount of quests.
This game is not dieing. its just that old players leave, while new ones come in. And SOE have stated that they have earned more players then they loose, and I have no reason not to believe them.
Critizing the Expansions before we even know anything seems to me to be common on this forum. Just the same day SOE had their stratic shat people on this very forum claimed they knew that the FRS where are a part of it!! And we all had it now confirmed thats not! I wish that one day people would stop ASSUME things they dont have a clue about!

Do you get the skiff if you preoder through LucasArts?
I'd certainly hope so. Preorder is preorder. Unless, they specifically stated you only get the skiff with preorders through SOE...which would be pretty lame.
The announcment on the LucasArts website specifically lists the skiff as a pre-order premium item.
In the third Star Wars Galaxies expansion, Trials of Obi-Wan (the "TOW Expansion"), journey with your friends to the dark and dangerous land of Mustafar, scene of the final battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith, where you can uncover and control the lost powers and relics of the Old Republic.
For fans who pre-order before October 25, 2005, early access to the game expansion will be granted one week prior to commercial launch. In addition, each pre-order will receive an in-game exclusive Transport Skiff, the first-ever eight-person vehicle available in Star Wars Galaxies. (One per account)
In Trials of Obi-Wan, you'll jump into exciting questing adventures that lead you through a harsh and desolate landscape covered with smoke and smoldering lava, unlike anything ever before seen in the galaxy - where only the strong of mind and body will survive. Along the way beware of exotic new creatures and what lies below the boiling lava. Interact with iconic characters never before seen in-game, such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and the infamous HK-47 from the award-winning Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Determined adventurers can seek their fortune by uncovering the lost secrets of the Old Republic and inherit the powers that lie within or die trying. Discover the lost legacy of the ancient Jedi Order and help Obi-Wan bring Order to the Force on Mustafar. Great challenges and conquests await those who choose to embark upon the Trials of Obi-Wan.
TOW Expansion requires a valid and active Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided subscription account in good standing in order to play.
Product Information
- Over 50 new quests and missions.
- Join Obi-Wan Kenobi in his quest for redemption.
- Discover and defeat the legendary Separatist Droid Army.
- Discover the mysteries of the Old Republic as you uncover ancient weaponry and armor.

- Uncover hundreds of new loot items including weapons like the Mustafarian Disruptor and the DC60 Carbine, which utilizes Old Republic technology.
- Experience a captivating universe alive with hundreds of new sound effects and music from Revenge of the Sith.
- Explore an all-new adventure planet featuring brand new environmental and graphical technology, such as unique heat shimmer and lava effects.

The pre-order in question is the pre-order from the Lucasarts online store, so you don't even have to pre-order from SOE to get the skiff and early entrance.

It doesn't say anything the other pre-order rewards.
TH has been asked point blank about this and said basically "we will comment as soon as possible" so I would recommend not pre-ordering until SOE give a clear answer.
For this LA are simply a retailer and since I for one never got my flash speeder I wouldn't trust a retailer until I got clear word from SOE that they approved fully the retailer.

I'm with Senom on this one. For JTL, I pre-ordered through a retailer and had to make a few (yes, I can be difficult) phone calls to get a flash speeder. I'm holding out until I can pre-order from the launch pad.
Oh don't even remind me about that whole flash speeder fiasco. I preordered JtL, but they based receiving the reward on getting some kind of preview CD, and the store didn't have anymore when they released the expansion and I went in to pick it up. The store owner couldn't guarantee that I would still be able to receive the speeder without the preview CD, and SOE wouldn't confirm that they could honor the preorder reward without the preview CD. The best the store could do was find one in another store across town that they would hold for me if I went over and picked it up right away. That wasn't convenient for me so I returned the preorder, got a refund, went over to Fry's and got it there for $7 less than the preorder price. I figured I came out ahead in the end.
To the store's credit (EB Games I think), they were very patient with me and made every effort to try to help me even despite my increasingly frustrated state.
Note to SOE's PR department: If only you'd issued a note up front guaranteeing that you were going to work out a way so that all preorders would have gotten the reward that you had promised and made that available on or before launch day, all that frustration and negative PR could have been avoided.
