Thread: droid storage
So Um.
**edit** happens to the pets in the droids?
So instead of removing the ability completely, why not just limit a droid data module VI (scaling the lower modules down) to 20 pets AND make it so you cannot call a pet while one of your pets is in combat?
The answer here is very cut and dry, and makes perfect sense. Of course no type of data was ever meant to be stored in a data module. Everyone should have obviously realized that storing any kind of data in a data module is most defenely an exploit. Hell I say ban everyone that dares to store data in a data module! Actually ban all the droid engineers that dared to even make data modules. Just by making a data module the droid engineers are fully exploiters, they should have known that if they made data modules that there was a chance some crazy **edit** might try to store some type of data in it. And we ALL know that was never intended.
Thanks devs for the misleading name. Next patch just change it to a "Schematic and absolutly nothing else whatsoever module"

#2 there spacifically states "Fixed an issue that caused pets to be lost when transferred to a droid.", this was dated 8/25/03, i mean... thats the deal?
It could just mean if you were using the droid pad for pet storage and the nerf goes in for pet storage on the droid, you won't lose those pets?
They are giving people time to move the data off instead of scrubbing all the pets once it is patched?
On my way to endor the other day I saw an interesting loading screen. Looking at what the toolbar contained I was shocked. I see that the devs have added a specific position for us creature handlers! I mean look for yourself! Who else could this new position be for?

Yup, that is our nerf position. Ready to take anyting the devs throw at us.
why not just make "cages" a craftable item? or Pens? or stables? we're going to be mount vendors soon and that would be really cool and fun. With pet vit in place, I have to keep back ups of all my fighting configurations ready. I won' tbe able to afford to store enough pets for my fighting and still have room to make an effective business.
I agree with not being able to store tons in the datapad but why not in cages or something? that would make CH more funwithout making it really more powerful (an explicitly stated dev goal) would give artisans another cool thing to make, and would add to immersion...win...win...win.
The bigger question here should be not so much of whether or not we can store pets in a datapad.. but what the heck isdroid data storage good for anyways? If they remove pets that leaves only one thing that can be stored in a droid.. schematics. Now answer me this... who in their right mind would risk putting any schematic worth keeping in a droid? Not to mention of course.. that schematics are resource dependant and most get used immediately upon being created.
Anyhow, if storing data in droid data storage wasn't intended, then obviously storing regular items in a droid storage module wasn't intended either right? I mean really, they designed the game so you could only carry X amount of items.. using a droid to bypass that limitobviously can not be what they wanted us to do.
I was reading through the patch notes and nowhere did i see where they said the droid storage of pets was a bug or other. beside even if you think it a exploit what possible problem would it be. you cannnot bring a droid out in battle that takes care of those complaints Ch's can only bring 3 creatures out at once and that only if master. So the way i see it is that droids are just like backpacks. Its like takin thoseaway from a Rifleman/Pistol saying they can only have X number of guns in your inventory. So you see it hurts noone.
