So, because you refuse to devote more of your skill points to be better at PvP you think that people who does should be the same as you? Fix CH, instead of nerfing other types of template.

Answer me how that is fair. Simple question.

This is starwars where jedis can not only deflect but send that laser bolt back your way, and you have a problem when someone dodges it? Stop crying for nerf and play the game, you might even learn how to beat these guys. I had a hard time killing one of these guys when I had 3 of my buddies with me, this was before I learn about aim and stun. His character is just better build for fighting other people than ours, simple as that.

I didn't cry nerf, I simply asked for a reduction (or removal) of double-dipping stats with multiple professions. The rebalance parameters are already taken care of by the devs, just awaiting publish. So, basically I'm trying to get my point across more than anything. To make people understand my perspective.

Tonight I had a run-in with a buffed Swordsman. I don't know how far along he was in the tree, but I was standing at the Starport in Coronet with a friend of mine and I noticed him walking around overt. He stopped out near the south exit of the city (near the starport) for awhile. I mentioned to my friend (Gusak) that we should try to kill him. Before-hand I told him not to be disappointed if he gets killed because the Swordsman is probably stacked stat-wise and he's buffed to boot. Neither of us were buffed, but we grouped up and ran to the cantina to become overt. I set my overt flag and set it back to covert so it would reset if I died. When we came out of the cantina the Swordsman was right outside by coincidence, he didn't know we were planning anything. Anyway, he got the jump on us and while he was working on Gusak I pulled out my Gaping Spider Recluse and forced AOE poison on him. It stuck. Gusak was now dead and he started chasing me around instead. His mind got below 1/4 when he caught up with me and I was incapped and killed. My spider stayed and tormented him while I cloned. By the time I got back my spider was incapped, so I stored it and pulled out two bile-drenched quenkers and a rancor. Gusak's fresh corpse (second death) lay near the cantina. I hadn't walked but a couple meters and Imet up with theSwordsman(all healedup)down a side street.I sent my pets on him. Of course, he ignored the pets and gave chase. I shot him with bleed and my pets poisoned him almost immediately. I ran to stay just out of range of his lunge and kept firing Stopping Shot. His health dwindled until he was incapped, but it took awhile. I bowed to him and took my revenge. It's obvious he wasn't defense stacked or he would've been a lot harder for me to hit with Pistoleer. This is a prime example of how a CH with Pistoleer can win in PVP in small skirmishes if the stats aren't stacked. There's a major difference when they are, the target is way harder to hit.

My question is how to you make your pets use their special attacks reliably. I have tried the:

/tellpet follow; or appropriate command for "follow"

/pause 2;

/tellpet attack or appropriate command for "attack"

to no avail. Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

One thing to watch out for, is to make sure you do not train your pets with the macrothat combines the two commands. All they will do is follow the target. Ya, i did this...lol

  • Pets are viable in PVP if you use them properly: Use your pets to poison/disease/knockdown/stun/dizzy/blind/torment players/etc.

  • If only the special attack commands worked then maybe this would be a good tactic . Its also not fair that decay has gone for armour and weapons but pets still lose vitality . Doesnt encourage me to use the pet i bought/made at either great cost or hours sampling . I would get involved in PvP if these 2 things were changed .

And that is how it should be, you fought another person who are not using a pvp template and the chances are about equal. Fair fight, slightly tipped to his favor due to his buff, but template wise it's a fair fight.

When you go against a pvp template it's not supposed to be a fair fight. Number one, CH is now one of the broken professions of SWG and numbertwo CH do not give you any combat ability other than your pets. That's why in a fight between you and a defense stacker 1-on-1, you should always loose the fight if the other guy knows what he's doing. A working template vs a half broken one (namely CH).

I disagree. I have 3/2/4/3 Pistoleer, on the verge of Master. I should be able to do SOMETHING. So you're saying my Master Pistoleer should be completely useless and it should be way harder for me to kill a two profession PVPer? lol That's funny. It doesn't matter really, because TH has already posted that the stacking will be removed and it will not go beyond the intended limit:

Looks like you're wrong. One profession PVPers WILL be able to join in and make a difference.

For those of you too lazy to cut/paste, this came from another thread... a TH quote:

Defensive Modifiers will have a hard cap with profession template stacking. Defense stacking will no longer stack beyond the intended combat calculation limits causing the defender to be nigh invulnerable.

    All rejoice!

Lol this wont make a difference. A not even master heavy sword user with no other melee skills took out my Arahne Webmaster very handily. I was running a test with my nephew so i know he wasnt buffed, he was wearing no armor and his hammer isnt even that good (I bought it for him ). He is 3 blocks shy of master and has no other combat skills.

Sorry, but pets are screwed in PvP. A MHS can kill rancors in three to four hits while getting hit themselves for anywhere from 200dmg to 40dmg and that's very seldom...

Be happy with a set of Advanced Composite that has 85% Kinetic and/or Blast and a good Buff. That should be all the defense you'll ever need. Otherwise, as stated more than once in other posts, allow for the addition of Pet Armor or Creature-Mounted Weapons.

Or they can raise MCH's max level of pets and give us something comparable to Imp. Players' AT-STs.

Oh, wait, once powerful pets, like the GM and the Gurreck is the reason why we got nerfed in the first place.

Oh, I know that. Like I said in a previous post, I'm arguing a moot point. I know they are going to nerf defensive stacking. But if you're not even master pistoleer you really shouldn't even have the slightest chance to kill someone with 2 master pvp prof. 3/2/4/3 is not even close to master.

Btw, depending on what that hardcap is, it's different from a total removal. Say the cap is at 100 it's still some stacking going on there. As no profession by itself can hit 100 defense.

And another btw, a double master is quite different from defensive stacker. Defense stackers are usually master of one combat prof and dabbler in a multitude of others.
