How do you figure? How will removing the ability to loop a macro kill the CH? You might actually have to play the game?...

spoken like someone whos never had to grind thru any ent skill or craftign porfession. i dont know about you but the idea of pressing 'flourish 1 thru 8' for 2 months just to get a novice dancer really doesnt appeal to me, oh and by the way. take up WS. hand craft 4000 metal staves (dont waste resources on anything else, if your not a master you wont be able to sell sod all anyway) by hand and tell me how much you love actualy having to 'play the game. removing the macros wont have too much of an effect on CH's but wait till you need some BF healed!

once SOE has settled all the RSI law suits they will conclude that SWG is a loss making project. see you all back on EQ!

YOU OBVIOUSLY MISSED HIS POINT. HE WAS SAYIN THAT CH SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM RUNNING WITH NO LOOPING MACROS. READ BEFORE YOU RESPOND

When you wanted me i came to you. and when you wanted someone else, i withdrew. And when you asked for light i set myself on fire. If i go far away, i know you'll find another slave.now i'm free from what you want. now i'm free from what you need. now i'm free from what you are! -audioslave

AFK CH. You got to be kidding me.

That's such a waste of time. Be a man, play the game, learn it. Hologrinding days are over, so why grind through CH? Play it, have fun, make lots of money.

lol I am not a hologrinder, I have 2 professions in a year of playing. I am a master. I do not play afk. I just like my pets to follow me when I tell them to. I like them to do a special when I tell them to. And I don't like to push a button a thousand times to get a working result.

Ummm.....ya don't have to push it a million times.....it's called lag .

This is not lag.Lag does nothave the ability to affect just one of your pets at a time.Lag does not keep a poison or disease special from sticking while allowing intimidate. Lag does not make one of your pets stop at a server boundary and make you drive back 500 meters because you didn't notice it stopped following. I guess no one here has figured out the intricacies of this profession. In that case I guess it will not be a problem for most people when this new patch hits.

it's not that we don't understand the intricacies of the prodession. its that you are too lazy to actually pay attention to where your pets are. if you look at the screen every once in awhile you would notice your pet had stopped following you. most of us have no problem just sayin "a" without hitting a hot key. i only use hot keys for my combat moves and for my stand up/sit down macro that keeps me from loggin out while i have a cigarette.

Waaaah. I fail to see how a repeating macro stops these problems. The specials don't work on demand, and spamming them doesn't make them work any better. If your pet gets stuck, run in the direction they are facing, and they are fixed. And, if you were a better creature handler you would know when your pet is getting behind way before you got 500m away. I can't believe anyone thinks the macro changes will affect CH, go look at some of the other professions that use them and you will see the real impact and not an imagined one like I see here.

And I was thinking about the spamming of commands to your pet...

2 men are standing at an elevator. one of them pushes the button, the other one says "push it again so it gets here faster..."

I say GREAT! YAY bye bye recursive macros. PLAY THE GAME PEOPLE!. If you can't live without them, I couldn't care if you left or not. It would just mean the people who love this game are left. I'm tired of all this mindless negativity spewing from the same people continuously. I mean, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and /cancel account.

my 2 credits.

Let me start by saying looping macros for creature handler is odd at best but I don't use looping macros anyway. Also,I didn't one star this post. Someone else did that.

Posts that say cancel your accountcrack me up though. Looping macros help the low level players "catch up" without the mind numbing pick a schematic no one will ever purchase, drag this resource into the slots, click that combine, make in practice mode, rinse, repeat which every crafter knows all to well. You want the new members to keep their accounts I'd say either make the novice professions more viable or allow them an easier way to grind through them.

Looping macros allow entertainers and doctors to auto-buff without having to actually "maintain" the character. No, people aren't off at the grocery store or watching porn as someone so eloquently put. They're playing alt characters with professions they enjoy. The buff-bots make money for the alt character and does you a service at the same time. How is that bad? You don't really have to actually pay a buff-bot anyway. Now you'll have to search for an active player and you'll have to pay for the buff when you find one, most likely before the buff is given. Entertainer can be fun and it can be boring as all heck. I've played one. It didn't last long. We're back to the days of running around with tons of BF because no entertainers are online.

Telling people to cancel their accounts solves nothing. If people cancel their accounts do you honestly believe SOE will maintain the game just so you and your buddies can play in peace? A better response would have been to offer an alternative solution.

just my 2 cents

-looping macros was the last thing that made pets (almost)useful in combat-

That's plainly absurd. I've thought about that statement-- it is quite disingenuous. The issue is looping macros clearlymaximize the worth of a pet in PVP. That way the PCrunning their own looping combat macro only has to operate the joystick to maintain optimum distance from their target for their combatmacro while the pet macro tries as quickly as possible as many times as possible to put states ontheir PVP target(s). I'm sure those people don't want to loose that little advantage. This change shouldn't ruin the profession for anyone unless that was the one and only thing they wanted from it. Also, is this just a proxy forthe bigger issue of their own looping combat macro? I have no sympathy in either case.
