I just started on CH and other than the incredibly slow experience rate of the profession, it's alot of fun!

Love CH, I'm no master any more but I still maintain cl50. I dropped a bit of it to get master BH and brought it right back up. I dropped more of it again to get Master Swordsman, and brought it right back up. I'm currently maxed on CH exp because I can't help it. CH exp comes too easy when you actually like pets and use them. If you don't like pets and are holo grinding, then CH exp is probably a chore. How sad for you.

The most rewarding professions in the game

I love hunting creatures and searching for rare spawns. No feeling in the game has ever matched when I found my first frenzied graul baby during the old days or when I finally found a Bull Rancor baby.

Also creature handling gives me a nice edge when need to change skills because my high lvl pets give me the opportunity to tackle even the deadliest creatures solo. Of course I am TK master now so now I can take down Ancient Bull Rancors solo with my pets.

Zeth,

Whatever works for you. Let me make sure one thing is clear. I understand "I" am not the center of the universe. I do not need psychoanalyzed. But since you bring up psychology then let us discuss the fight or flight principle. The Devs will not enter into a dialogue. I would rather do some more yelling before I leave the game or the profession. The Devs lack any fundamentals in reasoning, logic or ethics. They have proven that. How else could you nerf the one truly working profession before you bother to fix any of the others. It is like we are driving race cars as a profession. Everyone wants to win. But since the mechanics suck. Noone can. Except that one driver who has good mechanics. So our mechanics have been shot to hell. Now we are worse off than everyone else. We do not even have mechanics now. And quite frankly neither does the game.

There are too many people pissing and moaning about the pissed people. That's cool. If you're not a part of the solution you're a part of the problem. If your not for CH fixes then your against it. I do no bash people who want to use logic and reason. There are some decent posts I have made. Around a month ago I offered the peace accord. Some say it is good reading. Look it up. I truthfully had hoped a Dev would approach us and say something. I truthfully believed that TH might responded to our issues list the last 3-4 times it has been submitted. Neither happened. I will not lie down and be someone's door mat for long. I offered some peace in exchange for some time. The devs do not have to talk to me. They need to talk to someone. I will welcome anyone to volunteer. So many CH's want bugs fixed. I am sure in your heart of hearts you do too. The Devs might even want it. They are racing against too many clocks. Accounting wants the next expansion out. Will not happen until E3. Other companies will release soon. WoW and MEO to name the two biggest. Then they have to race to get this fixed before people lose faith. This game was laughed at in my circle of friend even before it was released. Had I paid more attention and not wanted to relive some boyhood fantasy, I would have listened. This universe has/had too much potential for it to be in such ruin (ironically thats a homophone for Rune).

The DE's desire to have uber pets with the quality of the current standards of BE pets will be a major issue that will eventually hurt this profession if people do not listen to the players. The Devs do not want the Droids to be that tough. BE even want a fair and just system for creating pets. The DE are not aware of the but still want comparably uber pets. Noone is listening to the other. I am not the center of the universe but when you look at the universe and think you have a solution, it gets old to express that in a vacuum of logic. In space noone can hear you scream. But I try. I am not a programmer. I am a long time gamer. There are always balance issues. It becomes even worse when you have power gamers.

Since the position of CH was always open to all it was fair, Devs did need to balance things but they should not have made us weaker. Utility that works against an already fair system defeats the purpose. The greatest happiness to the greatest number is best when it meets the criteria of justice, not suppression. I got where I was based on the merit of grinding. I was not an overnight CH. I started scout and worked my way from the end of July to Mid October. I know my profession really well. I know that the bugs some do not ever experience are there. Because I have had each and every one of them happen atleast once. Now it seems theres an auto agro bug that attacks me for jus tbeing CH. Or maybe its Thunderheat trying his hand at Digitaleering and causing me grief.

If you're going to attack me for being vocal. At least do not be so smug as to say the bugs do not exist for anyone because they do not exist for you. That is relativist garbage.

All too often another CH signs off. The Devs regarded this profession with apathy long before anyone yelled at them. No they only turn a blind eye because they put us in the dumpster where they want us. I love my CH. I play it less. So Freth is right in many ways. The spark that writes so many smoldering letters is almost gone, but so is the one that writes well thought out letters as well. This is one love affair that is in the toilet. The Devs have to try to get it back. My hands are tied. I cannot program for them. My god if you loved something wouldn't you ever fight for it? I mean if someone was kicking the piss outta your granny would you use logic? Then just keep quiet if it did not work? The Devs nerfed us to quiet the other yelling. That was their choice. Mine is to yell back in return when and where I see fit.

I enjoy CH too. So much that I refuse to do the holo grind because I don't wan to give up CH. I was sort of miffed when the first "balance" was done. But I have learned to live with it. So I cannot tank huge targets with a pair of Graul Maulers any more. My rancor does well enough. =)

I've been a MCH since one day before the Dec patch, and still love it. Sure, I'm for pressure to fix long time bugs, and new bugs introduced with recent patches, like everyone else. However I play nearly every day, and do not consider any current bugs "game breakers." I simply adapt and work around them for the time being.

Beyond the bugs (mostly), much of the other discontent in these forums seem to be related to assumptions of what a CH should be. Agreed, pets are mostly useless in PvP, and some assert they should not be. A valid opinion, and for a PvP'er i'm sure it's frustrating. I'm not a PvP'er, so can afford the luxery of not having to need a strong opinion that pets be PvP material. Two valid opinions, one of which is currently the state of the game. I have found some however, that take an opinion and present it (knowingly or not) as the Devine Law of the Universe, and a crime that thier opinion is not in effect, aka the state of the game. I have seen similar positions with the "my pet is the equivilent of a <insert elite fighter class>'s weapon", and should follow the same game mechanics. Aka, immediate access during combat etc. Again, many good and well constructed opinions on the topic, but some take the Devine Law approach. I.e., any well constructed opinion against said topic is automatically invalid, as the Universal Truth as already been presented, and if notrepresented in thestate of the game then the profession must be going the way of the Greeks. As already stated, I have observed this with *some*, and am not generalizing to the grand majority whom present varying opinions in a costructive way, or those that further that best interests of our profession (aka fix da' bugs!)

As you can tell from my large post totals (not!), I rarely post but enjoy the forums every other day on average. Also, am not attempting to flame anyone, but offering my opinion on some of the discord, rightly (and more importantly) or wrongly.

Been an MCH since before the December CH patch and still am. I love it and couldn't think of giving up my pets. Now, as far as the PvP goes, I gave up on it, until I master rifleman, and the combat balances take full hold. Learned very hard that a Defensive stacked, buffed, Master Rifleman is invincible. He held up 15 of my guildmates as we tried to defend our base and was untouchable when he was holding his rifle. He chewed through all of my level 50 pets like butter. Not worth the loss of vitality. And, this went on for 2 hours before I logged off.

But, I still love being MCH and the ability to solo and adventure on my very limited gaming time.

just get a TKM with stacked range defenses near him and he's toast lol
