Hi i have been a ch for a long time almost 1.5 years, can someone explain what the new abilites are, and how the pets obtain them i have rolled over my pet 110 times today and he has still not learn any ability. Am i doing something wrong or is this a normal process, he is a level 17 kima from a pre cu time.

My first one was Eye Gouge from a Cu Pa as well. As for the ranged pet thing I haven't had any problems getting my cu pa to KD mobs that are quite a ways away from it and me.

Eye Goyge (L1). Tamed 3 Cu Pa, and one of them had it. Really difficult to get pets with ranged attack to perform attack special abealities.
When you first tame a baby and bring up the training window you should see any special attacks if the baby has one available. You'll have to either scroll down in the training window or resize it a little bit bigger to see if you can train it in any special attacks/abilities.

I am a little confused too even after reading the sticky a few times. My question is do the abilities a pet has show immediately after you tame them? In other words if I tame a flewt and then look at it in my datapad will it tell me what ability I can learn from it? or is the ability something that is discovered after a work with the pet and level it? Basically, I dont really want to keep and level a flewt if there is no ability to be gained from it. I went around naboo the other night taming everything I could find, about 12 creatures and even leveled a few, but never saw any abilities. I understand the whole process outlined in the stickies with regard to leveling pets and the levels of abilities, I am just confused as to how I find out what pets have what abilities and when in the process of taming, training, using a pet you discover these.
Once you have trained your new pet you need to use that pet while fighting until you see a message stating that you've learned whatever special attack/ability the pet has. Now you can add that ability to any other pets you've leveled up.

my first one was fleet foot from a cupa and actually the best way to see if your new tame has an ability is to open up your datapad and it will tell you in the description if it has an ability.

Yes

The moment you tame it and look at it in your datapad you will see the ability if it has one. IF not then train it (6K+ CH XP) and cut it loose ![]()

This is not entirely true, You will see any triggered abilities that you can train a command for but the inate abilities like fleet footed will NOT show in the train window. The best place to look is in your data pad on the control for the pet.
Also I have been training any throw away pet with the same command for all slots so I don't accidenly throw away a pet I want to keep.

The stickies tell the proceedure but the short form is go out and tame new pets till you find one that has an ability (level 1 for now. you will need to know those anyway) then fight with that pet at your side (but dont group with it) till you learn the ability then keep it or cut it loose as you choose.
Now if you look at your Kima he should have some number of training points and some number of ability slots (if you rolled him 110 times he better have
that is a lot of work) target him and type /train which brings up a different training window with the abilities you can train into a pet. Select the (one at the moment) ability and press train. Voila your Kima has a new ability. Since this is the first one it must be Level 1 of that ability and will take one of the ability slots and some of the training points.
Since you can NOT untrain an ability you might not want to train the first ability you learn into your Kima. I suggest you practice on some throw away pets. (sad way to say it
) I kept 1 or 2 low level pets I learned some L1 skills from to test since I had already leveled them a bit to learn the skill.
My plan is to learn all the L1 skills then L2 skills then L3 skills. By then I should be an old lady and have some idea which work best
Who knows maybe I should get glowy and do that instead. Would take fewer XPit seems
