""Interesting idea, but seems like more of an MBE skill. What would be nice, would be the ability to farm and breed animals. For instance if you had a Piket Longhorn and Longhorn female, you could start a Longhorn milk/meat farm. Get them to breed and make babies, which you can then tame for more breeding, or let them grow to be milked or harvested.
How's that for an idea?
OOoarrrgh, get oorrf moi laaaaaand!!!!! ""

Isn't that what BEs already do?

My .02cr ideas:

MCHs should have an extra optional attack skill they can teach their pets, selectable from four or five different attack skills (thus, every creature is unique based on how the MCH decided to train it). Go For The Throat (health damage), Hamstring Slash (action damage), Maul (mind damage), Rend (acts as a negative armor buff for a set period of time), and ???

MCHs should have the Domesticate special ability. When used on a creature, that creature can be added to a Corral (craftable either by an MCH or by an architect). A domesticated creature could provide a steady supply of one type of resource, like a meat/bone/hide/milk harvester. The BEs would be knocking down your doors for these guys. This would also be a good way to display special pets that you don't want to use in combat.

Selective Breeding: Similar to your idea, but it doesn't duplicate what BEs do already. You could take two creatures of the same species, combine them, and have the chance to get one creature of higher power (their "offspring"). Right now, BEs generally create creatures of LOWER CL than what the DNA sample was from; MCHs could create creatures of HIGHER CL than what the parents were (2 bull rancors???). Again, this would create a market for you with the BEs; having access to that kind of DNA would be valuable.

Sounds great!
How about a command unique to each pet so all you have to do is say it and you pet comes out? That way you wouldn't have to go to your d-pad and mess with the radial menu to call your pet. You just say the command and out comes the pet you called.

While I'm not fond of the concept of "farming" myself, that would be pretty interesting. Just have a artisan-made structure available for CHs to buy, a "corral", which works like any other structure, with different sized corrals taking up a different number of lots. Then you place it and a fence appears around the area you selected. Then you add your animals and, voila!, you've got yourself a milk/meat "factory". You could have up to two kinds of creatures in the same corral, provided they weren't incompatible (i.e. you couldn't have carnivores with herbivores and you couldn't have wild animals with domesticated ones).

There could be a hopper there for ingredients where you put things like wheat and corn, which would be the required components for your milk/meat "factory". If you went withthe automated route and tried to keep the corral like a regularharvesters, youwould have toprovide power torun the milking machines and the butchering implements.

Idon't think Ienjoy it, but that doesn't mean another person wouldn't. It sure would make gathering organic resources like meat and hide for your artisan friendsa lot easier. What do you guys think?

Um...did everyone fall asleep in elementary Biology class? You can't breed two completely different animals together, let alone two that evolved on seperate planets. Inter-species crossbreeding is limited to the same Genus, and even then it isn't always possible. Plus, a Graul would probably eat something rather than try to mate with it. Now, having a domestication skill and herds of egg- or milk-producing animals might be neat.

have a little room eh? it's just a game. but I like the idea of getting a message that says "these two creatures can't mate!" or something like that, when you try to mate a durni and a rancor. but maybe a rancor and a graul wouldn't mind gettin' busy.
