Thread: Exceptional and legendary creatures!!! (A great idea I had)
Morb,
I do not think the issue is bumping so much as bumping with class. Adding something new to it each post or hoping that people respond with the same ideas in kind. 25 self bumps might be over the edge.
As to the, "people who have to have everything" comment, Gala. I do not believe that is fair to people who have accepted the nerfedness of CH and kept it to remain a rare creature tamer. Those who want these rare creatures just to say I tamed them are little different than people who do a Krayt Skull quest. In fact, the major difference is there are already rares. They are exceptional and legendary already. So rare, that they are not really usable in the game, taking into consideration that even if you did want to get the snot knocked out of it in PvP or PvE there are not any places to store it when you want to retire it.
In conclusion, endangered rares are already in the game. I have only gotten one Enraged Defender to spawn from a Piket lair. So it will be a long long time before I ever see one of their babies. You might ask Tivo about Bull Rancors. Whining you say? I say it is a legitmate concern for the Tamer type CH. 100'sof lairs later some of the Hunting Rare people are pretty frustrated. For a game that from the very beginning wanted no camping situations, taming rares has turned into that exactly.
elord, I really do not mean to take anything away from your post. It is a great idea. With Rares being what they are it is hard to reserve any cynicism as too how "ultra rare" lengendary would be implemented into the game. Anyway I do hope this thread can stay alive and on its own two feet without too much bumping. Let's face it, fewer CH's mean fewer posters here.
- SOE finish what they started with the combat re-balance and bring other professions in line with CH. Putting off these changes for their "money making" jedi profession was a low blow.
- Once balanced,CH bugs such as pets disappearing into the datapad mid combat, follow command not working, pet tells not working, MAKE UbEr non-ch CL10 BE clonesINVAILD, make bugged pre-nerf BE clones (noive CH ones) invalid etc etc etc
once all those things are completed they should:
3. Give CH damage migration based on skill point investment to help make CH more PvP competitive **and** give CH some unique abilities such as, but not limited to, allowing players to see through their pets eyes and control their creature as they can control their own toon.
Bottom line is, CH needs to be debugged, put back in balance with other elite professions, and made unique as a profession to regain its status as a fun and viable elite profession... Not trying to make the profession as independent as possible as so MCH can horde all the money made in missions to the greatest extent possible partly through minimizing BE.
Yes, BE pets are expensive, but the good ones takes Hours/Days/Weeks to make. BE is the most complicated profession to play and has an incredibly high learning curve to become a true master capable of fulfilling the full gauntlet of pet orders... having a wild pet that is equal to or greater thenone just **poof** takes away a lot of pride that goes into making a truly great pet.
Thats my two cents anyways

horde all money ?
how should that work ?
no whining here but with the nerfing situation for CH and the pets the tanking abilities of a pet like a blurrg for instance went down the tube for the greatest extent and so is the ability to survive missions that pay enough after substracting expenses for travel and stims/petstims to horde creds.
my kimo almost got beaten by a TKM. almost because he wasn't buffed or even powerboosted.
there is to say that the kimo got a 12K ham and it was down to 500 when it finally DBed the TKM.
from a pet that strong and expensive as it is i might expect that it got a bit of a better stand in a fight.
what i'm trying to say is that pets either wild or BE are hardly to tank anymore but just a decoy to distract like a fly as long as they last.
i barely get pets out when hunting for rancors in a group.
hunting alone i call them as backup.
as support ? no. for they hit too little to really support.
and i really would like to work on my career as a smuggler but dropping TKA to get the skill points i would need to get on would mean to be defenseless either in PvP or PvE.
and No - i won't drop MCH although i'm not the typical rare-pet-hunter.
Elord's idea won't give CH some lost powers back but it would make CH be more 'interesting' again.
