Thread: IF Thunderheart can really get us attention what do we really want?
Vert:
In reguard to BE pets, maybe a better pet check system to avoid such pets would be more appropriate.
Also wouldn't you rather see NON-CH raised to 14-15 like Droids, and then MCH bumped to CL100 with max single pet level 75-80 or 100?
I see much nerf crying in your list too... Nerfing only begats more nerfing, and soon we will get nerfed again.
I think the PVP items you mentioned should definatley take place, the damadge mitigation should be removed all together or pets should be counted equally.
To me the only real solution to getting us back as a viable combat profession is to make it so you can't be another elite combat profession.
And unfortunately we would have to have it only appply to us, because the Dev's want players to be able to dabble in several different proffessions at one time. Maybe make it so that you cannot get any lvl 2 skills if you have another elite combat profession. This would alow lite dabbling, but would not cause Beast Wars which got us here in the first place.
And Rancors Definately need to have medium armor again, they are just sad, they make Luke's Rock trick seem trivial... the way these rancors are, he could have just thrown the rock at the rancor, no need to crush it with the big spike door.
We should not attack other profs even though they are the scum bags who got us nerfed in the first place, we just have to work around things. Sure everyone knows that a TKM should never do more damadge to a Rancor than a pistoleer, but somehow he can.
I think what maybe appropriate is to have all the combat correspondents talk to each other and agree what makes sense for the combat revamp, instead of everyone giving their suggestions to make themselves more UBER.

Did anyone notice TH posted after I had officially quit. I am the one constant reminder to him, that he DESTROYED CH. I am back again and he is gone again. He knows I will not suck up to him.
I just reread the whole thread...I fail to see where even the vitrolic Pluto said to nerf anything but the BE non-CH pets that the devs have already admitted were broken...he's being very nice here, and I'm proud of him.../wookieehug @ Pluto! And how would any of the suggestions make anyone who's even a dabbler UBER? Every combat class EXCEPT CHhas armor piercing available. So that's not it. Medium armor - well, players don't get medium armor I don't believe, but light armor with 80% resists might as well be medium armor. Better damage - nobody, not even the CH haters, think pets do too much damage now. More pet storage? This would uber us how? I'm confused...

Vitriolic, that has got to be a first. Caustic I have heard many times. Maybe being nice this week has paid off, I dunno. Next week is a new week though.
First, pets are WAY too weak. I played anarchy online, their engineer profession used robots to fight. These were MUCH stronger then normal players and the engineer got repair kits that could heal faster then the robot got damaged. Thing is, if you kill the engineer the pet stops attacking, and only will start up again if it is attacked.
Point is, make NPCs and animals attack the tamer by default. You can still use your pet to try and save you, but they will want to take you out first. Once you are incapped or killed the pet stops attacking, heck you could even make it default to run so it wont be able to attack. This gives you the ability to have much stronger pets because you'll have both a great strength AND a weakness.
As a side note, people in PvP in Anarchy Online rarely used the engineer class because of this weakness, making sure the horrible pet wars wont restart. (Okay, I admit to doing this and using a cloaking shield to hide in the arena and take cheap shots)
Second, increase pet rare spawns, raise tamable pet levels and give us something special. Possibly a quest like RIS for armorsmith where we can be able to own pets 5-10 levels over the normal max or something.
Make the quests hard to do or find (and no, I'm not talking about hard to find like the genius that coded the bull rancor baby spawn rate), but reasonable.
As well, no, adding 50 super battle droids to our quest is NOT content, even though you think adding them to everything new equals content.
This has to be something ANY master creature handler could do with a decent pet.
Special rare pets, or make all pets up to the level you can use tamable, no need to add babies. This means possible juvi krayt pets (would have to change the level restriction like I previously said) and such.
With the other added change I specified with loss of owner = loss of will to fight even a pet with 100k ham would not be over powered. Players solo the acklay all the time, now is something like that too strong if the owner can be taken out in a few hits?
New mounts.
I would love a mounted rancor, if even just for RP purposes for my guild. I would throw away my swoop and only use it. Of course it would have to be master only though.
If you have no clue what a rancor saddle looks like, go pull up a copy of Star Wars Demolition. It shows what Malakili's rancor saddle looks like (Feel free to add the cannons to the rancor too, none of us would complain, honest!).
Just don't listen to the idiots that say you need to be fs to mount a rancor. They might as well say you need to be fs to control a rancor. If a fat slob with no shirt can control a rancor because of a bond they grew, anyone can.
I think that's about it. I better get to sleep so I can finish grinding BE before the looping macro nerf...My fingers get sore enough as it is, no way I'll do it when it needs 10 extra clicks per crafting session.
Oh, that's the other thing I wanted to mention.
On the BE forums we have been talking about being able to enhance CH pets. Aka a master CH brings us the baby bull rancor they tamed and we can enhance it, adding some resists, giving medium armor, giving more damage or more ham.
This would give 2 underappreciated professions some love, and since these enhances would be costly it would not imbalance (I believe that's the right word) the professions.
If a normal player can go to an armorsmith or weaponsmith to get alot stronger and more defensive we deserve the same, especially since as it stands, a rancor that should be able to be eaten by someone gets knocked down by a little stick and then killed. I kinda remember even Luke Skywalker, the jedi knight running from a certain rancor.
As another quest/content add for CH you could add an underground pet fighting ring like the pet fights jabba had with his rancor. There could be prizes (much like mission rewards, or even pets and enhancements, such as the champion for a full week would have the particular pet he won with increased in ham, damage or armor.
This means it would take a full week to have a chance to get that one pet enhanced, and other players could take part, raising the dificulty.
Anyhow, I might add more later. Off to bed now though! *waves*
