A day that will live in Infamy.
God I'm depressed.
Thanks for all you've done, and tried to do for us Mike. I don't expect that I'll stick around long after the changes. I started playing this game to be a CH and a Ranger. Ranger was made pretty worthless...now they're doing the same to CH....nothing much left here for me...time to move on.
Fair winds!
it has been such a wonderful 2.something years with you all and my critters, i never even got to finish my post-revamp tank

Hey folks,
This complete game change blindsided me just like it blindsided you. I had no knowledge that it was coming, and I can't even believe what I've read tonight.
My friend text messaged me about a "new CU" while I was at work, then bluntly told me Creature Handler was not in the grand design at all. I left work early to see exactly what he was talking about, and I can't understand what happened at all.
To all my friends here on the Creature Handler forum, I am so incredibly sorry. This profession, and this community, is why I played Star Wars: Galaxies. You guys were/are the best of the best, the most dedicated and awesome group of gamers I've had the pleasure of meeting. Even if we are less than 1% of the playerbase (hard to believe how far we've fallen since launch, when every other person was a CH), we're still just as important (if not more so) than any Jedi or Bounty Hunter.
I will not be re-applying for CH correspondent if this new system takes effect. I doubt that matters as it seems there will be no Creature Handler profession. I have already posted my feelings to the dev team. I will likely not be renewing my subscription either, as the game I love is not the game that seems to be coming.
For those of you staying around, proudly wear your Master Creature Handler title... maybe in time, the team will come to their senses.
For any of you who would like to be in touch with me in the future, feel free to AIM me at TheDarkGodHeston, or e-mail me at [email protected]. I can't promise to respond fast, but I'll eventually get around to it.
Vertexon was the first Creature Handler Correspondent, and I was the second and presumably last. It has been my honor to serve you folks, and I'm so sad to see our profession die I can't express it. Take care of yourselves, and hope to see you in future games!

- It may be a "game" to some, but not to me.

I have been a master creature handler for almost 2 years, starting with rock beetle that was given to me, when I was a dancer,in exchange for healing some ranger's 400 bf. I named him Crunchy, and he was with me for a very long time. If CH abilities are somehow folded into some other profession and we are still able to tame and use pets, then things won't be completely bleak. However, from what I've read, that doesn't look likely. There are no words to describe this feeling of loss and betrayal, especially after the CH revamp and the expansion, but I think the following vignette sums up my feelings adequately.
A child sits on the floor of her room, happily playing with her timeworn--yet beloved--stuffed animals.
The father comes in and says he has a surprise. "You know how I've been promising to get you a new a toy all this time? Well, here it is," he says and holds out a brand new stuffed animal. "See how nice it is? Isn't it shiny? Isn't it cute? Don't you just want to give it a big hug? Go on, give it a hug."
The child reaches out, smiling, arms spread in eagerdelight.
The father yanks the toy away. "Ha! This isn't for you. I was just kidding."
The child stares in hurt confusion.
"In fact," he adds, "I don't think you deserve to have any of these either." He gather's up the child's old, lovedstuffed animals and throws them away.
The child starts to cry.
"What's the matter now? Why are you crying? Oh, alright, fine." He retrieves a teddy bear, rips off its head, and tosses the body onto the floor. "There, you can play with that. I don't want to hear any complaints. Sweet dreams!" he says, and leaves.

Thank you for all your help.
MBE/MCH a double whammy here on top of buying the expansion yesterday so I could tame today. I found out right after taming my new pet.
Star Wars is supposed to be 50% Biological and 50% Technological. Looks like they are cutting away the Biological diversity.
I must say, as a Master Creature Handler, I can only hope they didn't loose their entire minds and cut out the Mounts we have tamed, trained, and sold to every other profession. Other Players besides CH stand to lose quite alot from this new developement. I guess I can finally play Jedi without regret. Why not? There will be 11 million other Jedi too!
Shameless optimist statement from me on the Eve of this announcement:
Trader might have a skill branch that deals with Mounts. Speculation at best. Time will tell all. Why else offer Veterans the right to wear the title "Master Creature Handler"?
"Careful you must be when sensing the future, Anakin. The fear of loss is a path to the dark side. Train yourseld to let go of everything you fear to lose."- Yoda.
Edited cut frommyscript: "Easy thing for you to say Master! What do you own? A mud hut somewhere? Speaking of Loved Ones, when are you introducing me to Yo-da Mama?" , Anakin.
Veteran rewards. Always a carrot out there isn't there?
Hoard your credits. Stack your loots. Fill your inventorys. Never know what might become a rare collectible in the new game if everything isn't deleted outright. Hold your breath. See you some of you on the other side.
