4. This last one helps answer your question about whether a Novice CH is just as much a CH as a master.....A respectable CH would never try to tell a CH of lower level that they are somehow not their brethren. A true CH understands that even though a novice just started they have chosen the path of the lonely workaholic. Being a CH in this present incarnation of the game is all about hard selfless work. Work that has almost no rewards other than showing off your pets to friends and other CH's. A CH that laughs at a lower level CH because they have tamed something the older CH has forgotten about is not a true CH. Because by design we CH are caring and respectful people. A novice Ch who tames their first Fanned Rawl is just as excited as a MCH that just found a Bull Rancor baby. And anyone who tries to make fun of them for that is a poseur who only want's to use a disposable creature to fight for them.
But hey, I am only a 3424 CH, so what do I know! NOOB!

However, those 44xxopportunists (or was it 22xx?) from way back in 2003 were definitely NOT creature handlers though!

I think you're referring to the 3/2/0/0 CHs, who took on just enough CH to call a graul mauler to tank for them, back when the graul maulers had 75% kin resist and light armor. Awesome tanks there were.

Those were the ones!

i've really enjoyed reading this thread, really cements my decision for me to come back to the flock after a year being gone jumping professions. whoever said that CH was a way of life hit the nail on the head in my opinion. i still have my very first pet, a rock mite named rocky, kinda funny that i treat that mass of pixels as good as any of my RL pets. Rocky is family

Difficult question this is.

Now I am a novice medic, and I consider myself a real medic. Simply because it is a major part of my playstyle. I couldnt see going through the game. Without hitting the stim bs half way through a battle, or going to a medcenter and healing my wounds and others. I could not see going around without haveing my backpack filled with two crates of bs and a few wound packs. I am a real medic no matter what anyone tells me, and quite frankly I kick myself all the time for giveing up firstaid two.

On the other hand I do not consider myself a real marksman or a real scout. Sure I have mastered marksman, but I use maybe 3 certs from it and maybe 1 or 2 moves out of all of it. I was a real marksman at one time, but now I am not. I am also not a real scout yes I have two full lines, but I am embarrassed, by not haveing the title and the full camp gear or traps.

I am a real BH. To me master is the mark there. I value the entire prof even though it has short comeings. Couldnt conceive of not haveing sprayshot at my side, or being to use my llc to its fullness.

Now I consider myself a real CH. Even though I can only afford three lines. Could swing it if I dropped medic, but I love that too much. So what is it that makes me consider myself a real CH. I think its a mentality thing, and I think its a simple one. Its your own personal self view. Are you a ch or are you a person that happens to use pets as tanks. I remember about a few weeks ago I saw a guy come into fort tusken useing pets to fight for him. Needless to say I took him under my wing chs gots to stick together. Anyway all the guy would say is I am looking to get some crystals.

Okay thats cool, but I started to notice his pet was getting a little low on ham. So I start stimming the poor fellow back to full. Still trying to use up alot of my original pet stims. 740 power stims far from strong. Well after I had gone through twenty of them. I started telling the guy. Hey man start healing your pets they are getting trashed, and I cannot be all about you all the time. He was after crystals I was after modded clothes.

Now I did not have my pet out full time. I was useing torso shot which was melting the tusken warlords. Sadly that does a number on the brain. So I was downing some muon, and when it faded I was not up to snuff. Trying not to take a ton of wounds. So I am calling out a pet once every ten or so minutes to cover myself. Anyway back to the story I am running all over the place looking for tuskens in need of death. I come back up top where the guy I met was there on the ground dead was one of his pets. I heal it and admonish him to take better care of his pets they are loseing vitality. No response I come back up five minutes later and once again I see a pet dead on the ground a totally new pet. This one with what has to be 300 wound points of damage. Now I find that I am about to cuss at this guy for what he was doing.

He was just calling one pet after another all apparantly that he bought and trained. The strongest was a GSP. Which blew my mind how can you get up to GSP and treat your pets like this. Well finally I had enough. I had already saved this guy about five times sure enough the sixth call came for help. I was grouped with him. So I went back up top again, and sat their and watched as a tusken was beating the tar out of him. I looked about and saw a dead dewback and started healing him. Another scream came help me kill this guy. I kept healing the pet. Another scream help he incapped me. I walk in and smile as the tusken cheif finishes him off. Then I walk up torso shot the guy to death, and claim the reward.

A few minutes later I get the groupchat pop up. Why didnt you help me couldnt you see he was killing me. My response was now you know how your pets felt, as they couldnt get a heal. To this the guy was completely flabergasted, and he went on about needing to get some crystals. I finally got fed up and told him to drop ch because he was a disgrace to all chs, and disbanded the group.

Thats how I know I am a real ch. The fact that I get fedup with people for doing it wrong. Thats the one thing about going up to fort tusken. Seeing people abuse pets. I have probabally handed out 20 pet stims to people only to watch them not use them.

I am a CH. I was born to CH, I will die a CH, and only my pets will mourn me. .... hehehe.

I am at this phase where I cant find a baby I can tame that I want. I have to constantly go low level hunting to catch and release, or high level hunting to get the max xp benefit.

I guess at my level, more than anything, it is a patience game.
