a dabbler is someone that doesnt master a skill and only takes parts of a skill to use.

that being said... dabbling in a skill should not grant the majority of the benefits of the skill. going 4400CH should not grant the ability to control and tame all the monsters a CH can have short of a rancor and gurreck. the changes bring CH dabblers into line with most of the other dabblers in other professions, in that they get some of the minor benefits of CH but not the full benefit of those that master.

now if only the would fix pistoleers so they cant gain all the benefit of both smuggler and BH.

Curious to know why dabblers in the CH tree are disliked. Cirin I hope that 'WE' in your condemnation of dabblers was a royal 'WE' cos I certainly dont feel that way.

This game's combat system is flawed, you need a tank to hunt - pets are the best tanks (well, aggro holders). No PC will ever have 8000ham - so the weopan specialist needs a tank.

If he has spent most of his points on mastering rifle, pistol or whatever he cant then master CH.

Why is this a problem?

Because it's the dabblers that are getting us and our creatures nerfed.

Well, I do think switching Ranger and CH wouldn't be such a bad idea instead of nerfing everything. Make it required to Master Scout for CH and 2 trees for Ranger instead.

I was wondering how you would get to handle level 36 pets with 4,4,0,0? The way I was counting it would only be CL 30 at max. Is there an update as to the starting level for Novice CHs? I read it was CL 10. But I saw in another post someone said start 12. So I am a bit confused now.

Oh and just for GPs with the other posts. I am not dabbling in CH. I am soloer and very slow, but trudging onward and upward. I was really hoping to Master CH. However------Now, I'm so depressed I don't know if I even want to continue. If starting Novice IS level 10, I will not be able to call even One of my pets. My Cu pa is CL 11. So, I will be so screwed. And all I have is Gualama, Dewback (Mount), Cu pa and GSP. Not a very intimidating CH here, but will be a Bot-CH after patch now

Cherbaca, Bria, M.Scout, N.CH 1,1,0,0 (30+k pts pending till patch)

Yes I do DABBLE in other things.

I am not a master scout.

I am not a master medic.

I am not a master brawler.

I am not a master fencer.

But I do dabble in all of those things. I didn't call you a noob, I didn't call you an idiot, I called you a dabbler, which you are. It's not an insult, but you sure as hell aren't a master. A title doesn't mean you're not a dabbler.

After having played as an Image Designer for almost a week (not long I know, but I have helped a lot of people) and looking on this board, I was wondering how many of the changes mentioned in various posts are actually going to happen.

The way I see it is, there are a few very annoying things that need to be fixed. Such as :

-The 10 minutes needed for stat migration (I have lost many customers because of this)

-the armor bug (the customer can't see their face)

-trying to end the session after the customer is AFK or has LD, if you have already accepted

These are the most annoying and I just wanted to know if anything will be done about them

Also almost everyone I Image Design asks about tattoos, is that going to happen?

I know all of this has already been asked, but I would like to know the current situation so I can inform my customers

Yes those are pretty annoying bugs, and I just started ID yesterday.

The ID branch in entertainer seems a bit too skewed for the required amount under the timers. Also it's weird compared to the ID skill box XP requirements too.

ID in entertainer 1-4 is 1000, 5000, 10000, 15000, and then novice is 10000 and 10000 for all of the first level boxes.

It seems like a more balanced xp amount in the entertainer tree for ID would be 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000, both because of the time it takes to get experience and because of the novice experience requirement.

You've lost people to 10 minutes for Stat Migration? Really?

Whenever someone complains to me that 10 minutes is too long, I point out that it used to take about a week for stats to change, and they consider it, nod, and move on. Besides, they're not getting stats changed without the 10 minutes.

The armor (and other clothing) bug is bigger than just the ID UI, so that will take a while. I had one guy at the starport on Lok ask me what he was wearing. I told him half his composite, plus one of the long skirts TKA's seem to like, plus something else. He sighed and informed me what he was wearing on his own screen, which was totally different. He said he'd taken his armor off three hours ago, but everyone else saw the weird outfit. I think the ID UI problem is linked to whatever caused that, so it's not just a UI refresh issue.

I imagine we'll get other tattoos when we get new hairstyles. It's a lot of art, so it won't be fast. There've been threads on what kind of things people would want, where they'd want them, things like that.

about losing customers because of the 10 minute timer,

I actually meant when I have a few people waiting and I have to tell them I will be ready for them in about 30 minutes.

That is when I start to lose customers.
