Just going to say that ch xp is based on ur character not the creature so fighting a lvl 44 does nothing.

- I support a rollback and keeping & balancing the old combat system.
...and making SWG a better place to be.

WE ALL GOT SCREWED AND SOE ACTUALLY HAD THE NERVE TO SNEAK IN THE SAME INFAMOUS PATCH THAT SCREWED UP THE XP ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE.

I was hunting with my CL65 razor cat, I'm CL64. Took a mission, grouped with my pet, and was getting CH xp, rifle xp, combat xp, and the pet was getting pet xp.

Where does it say we have to "train up" the pets we already own? Mine was hunting just fine.

I'm at work here and havent had a chance to test anything out, but my question is this...

If the experience is registering in the datapad... is the experience still available to turn in for force sensitive experience?

Least they could have done wasgrandfather the new training boxes to all our existing pets. That way all we had to do was find new pets with inate abilities and train them enough to learn said abilities. Then train the old pets with new attack. Now instead I have a data pad full of pets that are basically useless. I have to go tame all new pets and level those new pets to even learn the abilities....typical SOE =/

That's not xp that can be turned in, it's xp for your PET, not you.

If I'm understanding this correctly.

MCH here since a long time ago. Although I agree that it is kinda sucky that we have to grind a bunch of exp to be able to use the new abilities it is GREAT that we finally have them back after how long? Over a year....

I still have BE pets in my pad that have Special Attack 1 and 2 actually learned with the commands. They can't use them though.

It will be fun to take my ALREADY effective pets out and hunt with them and actually get little bonuses here and there.

I've already hunted for months with my pets, and they've lost vitality.

I think it's crap I now have to go out and fight with them to lose MORE vitality, just so they can finally learn the commands they were supposed to be able to use for a long time now.

As far as I'm concerned, Publish 21 is CH Grind v2.0 for those of us who are masters, and I think that's an awful thing to do to vet CH's.

I sure hope the OP is kidding. I mean he cant really be complaining about dramatic new training/ability options being given to our Prof can he? Our pets are EXACTLY as effective/inneffective as they were before this recent patch. We arent 'losing' anything. We are only gaining a ton of options. Just doing what you normally do when you play SWG with your CH and pets will slowly make your pets 'more' useful/powerful then they previously were. This is a GOOD thing.

I been a CH since the original beta of this game and i think these CH changes are extremely cool for our prof. There is absolutely NO reason to be upset IMHO, except for this being about 2 years overdue.

lol sorry for laughing. This xp not displaying properly was reported in TC. It should display in your datapad and your petIS gaining xp, it is just displayed incorrectly until you use your datapad. I'm sure you'll find all the other bugs that were reported during TC in the live version as well.

TC is there to find bugs so we can prepare for them in the live version.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy for the new system since we have had nothing for so long.

Not really sure these specials will help make us more potent in combat/hunting. Only time will tell if these so-called specials will have good effects on level 80 and above NPC's & creatures. Then we will need to factor in PVP with 1000+ damage FOTM players and 350+ melee defence glow stick users. I mean honestly, how good will a level 3 bleed on a player be? We will see.

I think what hurts the most is being loyal for so long and having to go back to basics and rework our pets all over again. I have some very cool pets in my data pad like many other players do, I really don't want to give them up. They should of given some thought to old school handlers and their pets.

CH has many other problems that need to be addressed. Its bad enough grind groups hate waiting for pets to be called to help. So now we have to grind our full data pad of pets and join the labor fray again. I didn't respec to MCH, I grinded it the old school way long ago. Now I have to work all over again to make my pets correct? SOE already screwed with us for months, I want to adventure and enjoy the game, not become a mindless xp grinder...I did that already!

UGH...

On side positive note, either I was still half asleep this morning, but both pets I tested seemed to follow me better and keep up with me better. Anyone else notice this?

The biggest problem for the vet CH is not the new system which could work out to be fun, especially for novice. But the fact that we were robbed of many useful features from pre-CU and have struggled with a broken system for months now, finding our own work arounds, struggling to keep pets going and ourselves, is not helping.

We lost some good pets at CU, then again at the next publish. And yes - some of us cared a lot about that. It MEANT something to us, to lose them. Other CH play in a different way - don't name pets much, or just use pets as disposable weapons. Wish I played like that now.

Today I will need to kill at least 3 named friends. Then tame 3 new pets with a special ability, but take care to not name them and not get to love them, because once I know their abilty I am going to take them round the back of the shed and shoot their little heads off.

Then I can get back to playing with the pet I liked using in the first place, and at least that will be me back to playing the way I want to - having fun with friends and with my pet and hopefully it will survive all its incaps long enough for it to be worth teaching a special.

The system could be fun - if the devs had thought to give the vets another 6 pet spaces. Instead we are expected to be unfeeling about our profession and just "get rid" of a few and carry on playing.

So true Oddwan. If pets were ment to mean nothing, then the option to name them should never have been.

I think the new system once its matured could turn out to work well to a point, but I am not holding my breath.

Now when I relog on to do further tests tonight, I have to decide what pets will die so I can learn skills with new pets. Also I have seen all the new specials, have to figure out what innate specials go with which creature?

Kinda sad that veteran loyal MASTER CHers have no skills in training even the basic special abilities.

I would have been more happy with bug fixes before specials! And thanks to SOE's lack of info, we always learn things the hard way.
