Thread: The Publish 19 Bug [Fixed July 1/2]
Ko, frankly, fixing this is not enough.
I want compensation for this. My main character is unplayable against mobs at his own level.
Also, someone in management at SOE needs to be unemployed because of this. I am serious. No one who would be negligent or incompetent to this degree should be in a position where they allow a game breaking bug of this magnitude to go forward. This "communication issues" thing is a very poor excuse. Someone needs to be fired.

they have, and your correspondent isn't alone out there.
Glad you 2 are on the case
the most frustrating thing is submitting the same bug report on TC over and over on each thread, and gettimng that horrible realisation as the patches went in and it still existed it simply wasnt going to get fixed.
Once they patched on monday evening (was night for me in the UK, but still), when I logged back in to still see it, it bacame obvious to me that this was coming live.
What has become obvious is the process of bug reporting on TC needs rethinking, they simply are not being thorough enough if the patch gets QA sign off with an issue like this still existing.
Thanks KO ![]()
Like u I am taking a break from the game. I hit the cancel button today but have till the 19th to play. So if they fix things I would probably come back. Just the same hitting the cancel button is my way of protesting. LOL Saw Tiggs in the forums today an asked her how I cancel my account because of the professon ending bug for CH, well don't honestly think she knew as she refused to respond to me. She was responding to others however.

Hey folks,
As you are all aware, the bug that was reported about pets (including all wild pets, faction pets, droids and some BE pets) being treated as level 1(0) and having 10 health unfortunately has gone Live.
Of course, this makes Creature Handler currently unplayable, even moreso than with the crippling bugs we've suffered from in the past.
The dev team has acknowledged the bug exists, it is not being ignored even though it did not get fixed. As you know, several different teams do work on several different areas each publish, and somehow despite the multiple reports from myself and many others, this bug was never fixed before reaching Live servers, either because of miscommunication or just plain oversight, I don't know.
I made a final plea last night to delay the publish to fix the problem, but once a publish is on deck it's pretty much impossible to stop it.
I'm hoping an immediate hotfix is forthcoming, but I have no official ETA on a fix or anything of that nature.
I encourage you to report the bug in the appropriate thread, and in the meantime if you have another character use it. Don't subject your pets to vitality loss just to prove a point, as some people have been doing.
I'm upset that this happened, and I wish I had the power to fix it but I don't. I'm taking a break from playing until the bug is fixed, as I really can't do much that I want to do without my pets right now. I'll let you know if I hear any further info, and I have requested that a "red name" stop by to talk to us, but I don't know if that will happen or is possible.
Thanks for sticking out the profession, and I'm really sorry about this.

Wow, a double-whammy for me, being a droid engineer and creature handler. Guess I'll go warm the bench this quarter of the game...
Hope you do not mind the company on that bench and hope there is enough room for a wookiee haha
was some confusion that led to our thinking that fixing that bug
resolved this issue.
I don't mean to offer that as an excuse, I just want to explain what happened.
I'm really sorry this made it to Live. We're working on a fix and we'll get it to you as soon as we can.

Thank you, JFreeman for responding... It's not just us, but also DE being affected... Maybe you could let them know too!
Well this sucks! I was looking forward to my time off this weekend and spending some of it in game finishing several Kashyyyk quests etc. with my pets. Guess that plan goes bye bye now!
I am getting more and more frustrated and disgusted with the DEV's as time goes by. I am thouroughly convinced that they are totally inept and could give a rat's ass about their customers.
This bug and how soon they fix it (IF they fix it) will determine how much longer I play this game. I'll probably stick around until Middle Earth on-line comes out. If that game shows promise I may pitch SWG out the window and tell SOE they can kiss my ass aand my money goodbye!
This is totally unacceptable B.S. from SOE and the DEV's. I totally agree that someone should lose their job over it.
This is why TC exists... and why you should push publishes to live once they work well, not based on a fixed schedule. Tell your bosses...

Procedures go wrong in any business, thank you for at least acknowledging the issue here.
I will say though, anyone with any intelligence can see the issue here is less about your procedures , or the abilty of the dev team, and more the impossible timetable being forced on you by higher powers.
As a long time paying customer, pass this on.
Id rather have 1 working publish every 4 weeks, than 2 that break more than they fix because of time restraints.
