one "follow me" command and they have to start spamming all over again, so maybe if you've got pets on display loopthe command so they can't be taken...temporary fix until they take care of this...

Ok here is a serious suggestion.
If you have some one doing this, pull out a pet and set him to target the guy. If he is of an opposite faction than you, go overt in a group. Then when your pet attacks him your whole group will have tef and you can take him down. It isn't so much fun when the pet you grabbed bites you in the butt.
Of course you could pull your rancor or kimo and send him following him around as well. If they want to play with our pets let them get the whole community annoyed with their foolishness.

wow, lol I thought I was the only one really POed. yes I use the /follow loop macro, but arnt they taking out looping macros soon?

Huge problem.
Grifers have done this to me for the past 5 days
They come and steal my droid then have it attack somethign then that thing cmoes back and attacks my entire group.
this is GRIEFING.
IT greatly lessens my gameplay experience when it happens over and over especially within a 5 hour period.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO DEVS??
MAKE SURE WE STORE OUR PETS WHENEVER SOMEONE COMES UP TO TAKE IT? OR SOMEOEN WE "SUSPECT" WIL LTAKE IT??
I mean this virtually negates ALL need for ANY CH skills
You can take anyone's kimogila if you want. And yes it follows orders and fights.
And NO there are no protections against this griefing..
/stay and /guard do NOT work.

I didn't know there was an issue with taking pets into Cantinas, I've taken small ones in with me before and not had any problems... is it actually considered an offense? If so they should make that clear when you start the profession, I've figured that anywhere I can take my pet I am allowed to take my pet. Obviously I don't do stupid things like blocking terminals/ticket collectors but other than that I didn't think it was doing anything wrong.

I'm working on getting a response to this issue, again stressing its urgency to the Devs. Ideally I would think only the pet's owner should have access to this functionality (perhaps the original intent?). At this point, though, I think we'd probably settle for getting /follow and /summon pet responses deactivated. Would anyone actually miss these for legitimate use?

I don't see why they would have to remove the commands, just remove the functionality for people to use them on pets/droids that don't belong to them. The devs have too many work arounds and easy way outs instead of just fixing the problem for good...

Okay, I've just received word from JustG on this. It is on the table forAfter Publish 10, but they are not yet actively working on it. They do recognize that it is an issue, though, and take griefing very seriously.

a perplexing predicament peoples.
personally never posed a problem for my pets, nor practically ever on the pets of other people.
perhaps it's just me.
(i practically used to many 'p' words)

In the meantime can we just take screenshots of the jerks and send them to the cust svc folks to get them suspended from the game for doing this griefing move?

CSR's don't take screenshots. The only way you can report them is with words, and chat logs.

I was annoyed the first time, then it got out of hand for hours. I have had 2-3 people suspended from the game for griefing me like that continuously. I dont know what will happen to them, but I hope they get some maturity in them and wont do it again.

There is a very simple solution .. DON'T LEAVE YOUR PETS ALL OVER TOWN !
