As a safety precaution, I was with a friend that's working up the CH tree, and she was using a level 20 critter to hit with. I'd let her pull the prey to us and engage it, then sic my critters in to help keep it there, and she would shoot it (Rifleman). She said she was getting even more than I was for each critter we took down.

It's interesting. You can get ok XP from using a few CL under the target. Not as good as using something 1/2 as strong, but no proportional either. I think the 1 XP penalty for using a stronger petis out of whack though. I can still get 60+ XP killing yard trash with a 300dmg laser carbine, yet only 1 with a level 12 pet.
