Hi guys long time CH here as well as a casual gammer.

I have been working on CH almost since launch, as well as some other things.

Needless to say I didn't take advantage of some of the very early "exploits" or easy xp tatics.

Well now I wich I would have. It seems if I use any pet that level 30 or above I get 180xp per kill, that's less then my combat XP.

In my thoughts, the rate at wich CH level up is proably the only proffesion that is on pace, however since all other classes seem to have xp falling from the sky, I wanted to know if anyone besides me thinks the XP grants are far far too low. I fear that most of you whom post often have already gotten master and don't really care about XP grants anymore.

So what's CH people what do ya think?

Its sad that you could play the game for this long and come up with a stupid statement like " i can only get 180xp per kill". Learn to play the game and maybe youll be getting 1000xp per kill like anyone else with half of a brain.

The xp is a lot harder than it used to be, but it's not impossible to get. Fight high level mobs in a group and you will make a lot more than 180xp. Use a lower lvl pet than 30 on what you fight now and you should gain more than 180xp.

One of the things that really makes it seem to crawl, is that all four branches of our tree take ch xp. Don't get discouraged.

/bonk Don't be mean to people who ask questions....

The best place to get CH xp is hunting Enraged Rancors on Dath. Take a level 14 pet (for some reason they work better then lvl 13 or lvl 15) and you will get 1500 xp per rancor. Now remember that it only needs to hit the rancor ONCE to get full XP, so don't use your pet to kill the rancor, or it will get killed in the process. Just have it hit once, then run back to you. Also I would suggest using the /tellpet commands as they have a higher range then yelling at your pet. Also you can set up macros easily with it.

Good luck on the XP grind.

I used a level 16 to go all the way to MCH... Don't you read up first? A lower level pet gives more CH exp per kill, so you use the lowest level pet that can survive what you're hunting.

I am not so sure the hit it once and have it come back to you works so well now. I have noticed that if I am hunting in agroup and getting the pet to hit everything the group is hitting you will not get CH xp if the target is to far away. This doesn't appear to be that far either, even if the target is within Rifle range I will not get the XP. It works if the group of tagets are close to one another and the pet stays with them whilst they all die.

First of all I thought it was a bug but I can pretty much recreate the problem everytime.

Wow, never expected to hear someone on this thread be so outwardly rude.

But besides that fool,

I guess what I am saying is that it's not as much fun to level up when you can't use the level of pet that you want to, only level 15 pets. For instance

Marksmen - Better gun = better xp

Musician - Better instrument = better xp

CH - better pet = Less xp

Anyway, I can't say how dissapointed I am in some one of the posters...no wounder more poeple don't post here

Definatly go with a dewback on dath lvl 22 is what i use and i get about 1.35k a kill and my pet doesnt die either. thats the tactic i accedently found while hunting on dath and ended up getting ch 4-3-2-3 in two and a half days.

Try not to let it get to you Rayne. There are lots of kind folks in the CH community also.

And yes it does seem that in order to gain xp as quick as possible, we are forced to use inferior pets. Once you are done with xp it gets more fun.

When I was going through the CH tree I always had to be a certain distance from my pet, and my pet had to actually be attacking the mob when it died to get the xp. The one hit and call it back never worked for me.But I still made it to master!

THANKS for all the rgeat tips guys, you have renewed my drive to get to master ( been kinda putting it off).

Besides i'm so close to master swordsmen. Ya I know I know brawler and CH isn't an uber template, but can you belivie it some people actually play this game not to be uber but rather to roleplay a char, and be the profession they like?!?!

Raynedog, I accidentally found that you will get XP out the wazoo on Endor. I had a Level 34 and a Level 33 out and was getting around 700 and 600 per kill on most everything I hit (except Lantern birds). Too bad I'm MCH now and don't need it. *pout*

As a safety precaution, I was with a friend that's working up the CH tree, and she was using a level 20 critter to hit with. I'd let her pull the prey to us and engage it, then sic my critters in to help keep it there, and she would shoot it (Rifleman). She said she was getting even more than I was for each critter we took down.

Hope this helps.

I used to be a MCH but had to drop for holo grinding etc. Well, I finished up and wanted to get MCH back. It only took 1 week to get it back with the current system and wasn't even trying hard to do it (I work 50 hrs a week and have a family life outside of SWG). I think the exp gain is completely in line with where it should be.
