Thread: Is Anybody Else SICK And TIRED of the Arbitrary CL System?
Lol... ok, so I could've expressed myself a bit more discreetly ![]()
I was just coming off of a conversation with a CH pal of mine who's been looking for a Great Plains Stakler baby, and so far can't find one (not a unique story, I know
). But she got talking about the Mire Marauder, and I thought it would be really cool to find one for her, to surprise her... except they don't spawn babies. So the GPS is nigh impossible to find, and the MMIS impossible to find. It's not a lot of fun for the casual Master CH, as it requires some mega investments in time, and on top of that, quite a bit of luck, to find any of thebetter pets (the 5 out there, anyway). Come to think of it, 95% of CH tamables are below CL35, which is rediculous, IMO. Your options should expand as you get better, not diminish...
In my experience, Master CHs enjoy the profession because of the thrill of the tame. The devs have relegated us to a BE-side profession, and measure everything about us by how we relate to BE pets. I'm not trying to rag on BE's or BE'd pets - they have their place, no doubt about it. But what the devsdon't get (or choose to ignore, in their endless 'interdependancy quest') is that what defines most CH players is the way we live to tame - we love to tame new and rare beasts. Right now, there aren't enough types, nor are those few we have spawning appearing with any reasonable frequency. Besides, where thehell is Average Joe CH gonna come up with a MILLION credits for a super BE pet? The devshaven't given us any way tomake money! ![]()
/sigh I enjoy taming, so I stick with it. I have a couple BE'd pets in my dpad - but my highest is CL55, because A) it was given to me by a good friend, and B) I can't afford anything bigger/tougher. I hope they kinda make us our own little minigame, and leave us in peace to do what weenjoy - which isn't buy pets, nor slaughter in pvp... It's to tame wild and rare beasts. And for CH, that's what they need to make their focus around which all other CH issues are considered.

Oh, hiya, T ![]()
I'm in the same boat... I don't use the rarer pets often, because, as hard as they are to find, it would be more of a chore than it's worth to go back and find a replacement if something happened to the one that I currently have. Thus, we're forced to use clones, cowering in fear for our Great Plains Stalkers and Swamp Stalkers, that they'll be hammered into the floor unexpetedly and impossible to 'repair' to full health ever again. Seems to suck a lot of potential fun right out of the game, and it's not necessary - pet vitality is an issue that needs addressing, IMO.
I totally feel your pain on this. What I wouldn't have gived to have a barkmite burrower in the pre-nerf days!
We are now just VPOs, sign the petition ![]()
