Thread: Is Anybody Else SICK And TIRED of the Arbitrary CL System?

I can't be the only person who's fed up with the whole bogus "Max CL70" crap, when anything that's actually worth getting in that range is FORBIDDEN?

All the coolest critters that fit that criteria are UNtamable. It's stupid, arbitrary, and represents the devs' collective inability to make the game function with a modicum of common sense.

EVERY Creature that's CL70 or below (and some above, for taming clothes' & wookie sake) should spawn babies - period. If they don't like it, then drop the CL. But this arbitrary "one for you players, two for us devs" is BS. Too much isn't getting done around here, and I for one am SICK of all the JEDI news. While they're spending all their time working on making lightsabers and force powers work (for all 100 players, out of 300,000, who actually have a Jedi), instead of fixing all the things that have NEVER worked right, since launch.

Anybody else feeling the pain here? Anybody else tired of seeing Frenzied Grauls, Merek Harvesters/Kings/Blood-Drenched, Foul Desecrators, Gronda Juggernauts, SlinkingVoritor Hunters, Reclusive Cavern Spider Queens, Young Malkloc Plains Walkers,ArachneQueens, Bark Mite Burrowers/Queens,or Mire Marauders, ALL within our 'supposedly acceptable CL,' and arbitrarily witheld? What is this, amateur night at SOE??

The devs are so hopelessly enamored with this whole 'interdependancy' crap that we're completely friggin pigeonholed into buying BE pets to be worth a crap. Yeah, just what a CH wants - a freakin assembly line clone meat shield. They don't have a clue what makes us tick, or what the few of us who have hung around actually ENJOY about the profession. I guess it's sad that it's only now coming crashing down on me, but better late than never, right?

Tell me how you really feel.

This whole game is unbalanced. Sometimes I throw my hands up in the air and say oh-well. Subscription is up in a couple of months although if the space expansion comes out, I will be foolish enough to purchases it because I am a starship captain.

<hug> They've been trying to pretend that CH was a mistake that should never have gone into the game. I for one bought the game in the first place because of the CH profession, and even though i had to take a lttle vacation after the last hammer blow to the forehead of the profession, I still enjoy playing for some reason. I'm still fuming over the "tameable creaturesthat do not have babies will be the exception, not the rule" horse $hit that we got handed around Thanksgiving I believe...I really like that you can use /pet and give your critter a break, but lately they have been getting enough datapad sleep to make them ADD neurotic froot loops...we're getting no bones in this game whatsoever for some reason, and with the combat rebalance put off indefinately(I don't think it was really happening in the first place, but that's me) they'd better give us SOMETHING to make up for us getting "balanced" and everything else staying the same...i vote for a one-time only "tame adult" certificate for reaching MCH! it wouldn't make things better, but wouldn't you have fun deciding what you'd tame? It would make you go out on planets you haven't seen in months and run around on your speeder /examine ing everything that moves...

Being a Master BioEngineer, I have a level 70 Kimogilla I can sell you. I used Frenzied Graul, Merek Harvester/Kings/Blood-Drenched, Foul Desecrator, Gronda Juggernaut, SlinkingVoritor Hunter, Reclusive Cavern Spider Queen, Young Malkloc Plains Walker,ArachneQueen, Bark Mite Burrower/Queen,and Mire Marauder DNA to make it.

I just decided to do BE, make the pets I want for CH and then drop BE for TKA. I can say I made all the pets I use

It doesn't really have the same cachet to buy a factory-made pet as it does to crawl in the dirt and tame one, does it?

Back when the CL WAS actually arbitrary and pet level was completely illogical in regards to their merits, things were more interesting. Sure, things were kinda broken, but definitely more interesting.

I'd like to complain about the badness of the system as it stands today but I'm too tired--I'm just going to have to say 'whatever' and hope that those of you that still have some energy can push for some improvements. Good luck! /salute

Thing is, a BE pet worth its weight will cost you 250,00-1,000,000 credits. I want a pet I can afford to use, and lose. One that I can replace when I need to using the skills that I developed just for that purpose. NOBODY can afford to use a BE pet in PvP. They get wasted so fast they were not u worth having in the fight anyway, AND, the wear and tear (vitality hit) they take, along with wound healing, makes them have to be replaced and cost too much to maintain.

The only other profession that takes that kind of cost hit is a Commando and they have flamethrower and acid rifle options that make it so they don't have to use their "disposable" weapons.

DEVS: If you are not willing to respond to our gripes, then just help us without making comment. It is possible, you know.

For example: you can't go wrong doing the following:

1. increase the spawn rate for the so-called Uber Rares.

2. increase the number of pets that can be tamed. Especially add variety at the 60-70 difficulty level.

3. fix the bugs that make pets do things they shouldn't do (e.g. autostore, turn and run, etc...).

4. look at our top 5 list and put in an effort. E-F-F-O-R-T

5. do the balance with the combat skills that will bring our nerf in line with what you say you intended with the rest of the combat professions before you nerfed us. You know, the one you have postponed doing.

6. sit back and watch us thank you and become contented with our lot in life.

7. have the courage to still post on a thread that might not be thinking fond thoughts of you right now because it is the right thing to to for your customers vs. only posting on the threads that stroke you ego.

They definately need to still fix the issues with mysterious autostores and all the running. I remember the complains from release about that.I suppose they're better though. Last night was the first time my pets autostored in quite some time, but granted they waiting until a fight with several nasty critters before up and leaving me alone in the fray.

I can't agree with anyone wanting to increase the spawn rates of the uber pets. The point of them being uber is that not everyone has one. Once they do that, every one of you will have the exact same creatures again. I've hung onto my giant peko peko just for the fact that nobody else still has one.

1) I'd would like to see more creatures offer uber-rare spawns of non-uber creatures just to keep as status pets. Simply to have because other people don't. They just have to look cool and stand out, they don't have to be functional. If you're in it for the grind, you won't be for this but it keeps the rest of us happy.

2) Increase the number of "comparible" pets to the most common things out there. Make different creatures have stats similiar to another, common pet. While it won't improve their combat abilities (which everyone seems to be most concern about) but it will increase the variety of pets that people use.

How does the whole "star" thing on the threads work? It sounds like it is supposed to be bad, but my natural reaction is a topic with a star would be of interest. I don't get it.

Thing is, we want the thrill of being able to tame these things, Issha. Your kimo is brilliant, and will always make me go "Oh, wow!" when I see it. But I, for one, would never want to buy it because, well, it's too easy. Purchasing that kimo is simply throwing money out, and getting something back. Yes, that something is good, but it's not the same.

It's like the difference between buying a tricked out motorcycle and building your own. Yes, you can buy one, and the skill that made it is wonderful. But, when I go riding down the street on my own chopper (in a few years), knowing that it's mine because of the sweat I put into it, then I'm far more proud than the guy that shelled out a a flat $40K and purchased his Boss Hogg. Yes, he has a great bike, but I MADE mine.

This is what many, many, many CH's want. We don't want to cut out the BE - after all you can custom make some seriously killer critters. But we also want to be able to go out in the wild, sneak up on the thing, maybe have it try to kill us a couple times, maybe even have to come running back from the clone bank (covered in wounds because we are so eager to get our critter that we don't even heal up), and try some more, until we can say "That's mine! I got it all by myself!"

100% agree!!!

I have 2 sets of BEcats that I use for missions but they are tools plain and simple. My fav pets are the ones I've tamed.
