Thread: post CH revamp... What speciail abilities do you hope you can give give your pets?

Here's what i want to see:
/ambush This would allow my pet that is grouped with me to go under cover as I do.
/roar (i.e. warcry) This could be used from /ambush to startle the prey allowing the pet to get in a high damage first strike
Easy enough. Taunting takes various forms. I've seen attack dogs in action, and I can promise that their quarry were preoccupied with the attack dog, to say the least. It's not a verbal taunt, but the critter definitely had -- and kept -- the quarry's full attention. Consider the effect when you're facing a Nargie that's about the same height as a horse, but a much bigger build ( or even more impressively, a Rancor ), and they have taunt pretty much built-in.
It sounds like the Aggression ability falls along these lines, so we may have a winner there.

Yes would be sweet to see pets run like they should and tank like they once did.
I agree some of what I said would make sense for CM, but the things I would think would be more indicative of CH will never happen in game.
Somewhere deep inside I know a kimogilia should just rip a persons arm off or shatter 7 or 8 ribs. Thats never going to happen though it would be a nice content boost for doctors and CH but will never happen. CMs got poison and disease and personally I have no doubt if our pets got equal dissease or poison it would get nerfed so fast well you know the drill.
I thought my list was pretty nice and it would be nice to have a profession on the battlefield that could do that to say counteract chronic self healers
Deep inside I think a kimogila should swallow a Jedi whole and kill them in one hit that way but I don't think it'll happen

What I want to see:
- Pet speeds returned to pre-CU levels -- default speeds, not something "learned" or "taught."
- Pet Roar (or some variant) -- draws and holds target's aggro. Perhaps a good name for this might be "Menace" -- snakes would rear up and hiss; flyers would spread their wings and scream at their target; huurtons and langlatches would lower the front portion of their bodies and bark furiously; etc.
- All the original pet specials from before the CU restored to functional status, including knockdown, poison, and disease
- Pet Entangle -- for pets like snakes (constriction?) or spiders (web shooters!!)
- Huge pets made more resistant to stun, knockdown, and such. This could be balanced by adding vulnerabilities to Stun/KD's from weapons with a blast effect.
- Customizable values for attack speed, attack accuracy, damage output, damage resistance, health pool, and attribute regeneration via physical training... and these values would tend to oppose one another. For example, a pet trained for fast, powerful attacks would have to sacrifice training in some other category.
- Pet Concealment -- certain stealthy pets (such as the cats, crystal snakes, and perhaps slinking voritor hunters and the like) would have the ability to enter a "Cover" state similar in function to riflemen's "Take Cover" ability
- Battle Platforms for Huge Pets -- an ability to place a turret of some sort (with perhaps a Squad Leader or Commando to man it) on the back of a large pet likea fambaa, torton, or bioengineered kimogila. These would balance Imperial AT/ST's. Also, I'd love to see Gungan shield generators in the game!
- (Added via edit) Fix our ability to attack while riding our pets! And while the devs are at it, how about a range of special Creature-Handler-specific special attacks for fighting while mounted? I'd like to see a "Mounted Vibrolance Use" certification with a basic attack command given when the CH gains the ability to mount-train pets, with a high-impact "Charge" attack at Master CH. In addition, I'd like to see a set of speed and accuracy penalties for mounted combat put into place for all characters, with mitigation effects built into the Creature Handler tree, possibly in the Creature Empathy line to simulate the CH's ability to soothe and reassure his mount and ensure that the mount provides him with a stable shooting base.

And again for huge pets, the ability to offer groups of people rides!
