what...I have no clue...I'm happy with my three greater sludge panthers...

While that may be true, let me offer you this. I have been hunting for a GPS well over 9 months or so before my couple month break. I am willing to try anything that may give me the success of taming a rare pet, especially one as rare as the GPS. Besides, I have never said I was normal. 8-)

I have more luck finding specific babies by just driving around a general area I know they spawn in...but instead of only looking for those babies...I look for any babies. I then tame any babies I find. That way I may not find the pet I'm looking for...but chances are I'll get an ability I don't have yet.

Sadly I will say that this approach has it's flaws...this hasn't worked for me with the baby Bull Rancors yet...

One trick I use is to target the creature then drive away until it becomes un-targeted on its own. Then make sure its "arrow" is off the radar completely. Then drive about 150m farther and wait a minute before returning. This usually ensures the spawn as 'changed' itself.. It works for group spawns and singles but harder to tell the difference with singles unless a baby actually shows up.

Your method worked for me too thank you very much, however no special and unless I am extremely bored I don't think I will hold out of one with specials.

are there other players near where you are watching this GPS? If so they may be holding the spawn at the specific instance and it is not "de-spawning"

I have seen quite a few people mentioning taming GPSs in my reading the forums the last couple days. Has anyone noticed if there is a time of day pattern to finding them? Are they found early morning? Night time? I am looking for both in game and real time data. Just trying to narrow the odds down a little. 8-)

Make-shift guide to catching a Great Plains Stalker Baby. This has guaranteed the taming of at least two GPS babies (mine and my CH buddy's).

1) Locate any Great Plains Stalker on Corellia. Doesn't matter if it's an adult. Just find one.

2) Set a waypoint as close as possible to it.

3) Travel away from that waypoint at least 600m. (It was 570m for me).

4) Head back to the waypoint and stop about 100m out. Wait the the GPS to respawn.

5a) If it's an adult GPS, goto #1.

5b) If it's a baby GPS, tame.

I was working this idea on a Stoneskin Hanadak spawn yesterday morning. Along the track I was taking when moving away I spotted a Blurrg Raptor, so I desided to try working both spawns. I worked for 2 hours. Never saw a Stoneskin Hanadak baby but did get a Blurrg Raptor baby. Unfortunately on the second tame attempt it aggroed me. When I finnaly got it to break aggro, it went poof. When I got back to its spawn point, there was an adult Raptor. So the idea does work. Just wish they would make Raptors lvl 70, so they can be tamable but closer to what they used to be.

had the same thing happen to me yesterday when i was doing this with a swamp stalker. it despawned and gungans were in its place

just forget about the time line it nolonger exits her hasn't for some time. we're in a virtual star wars universe and it our time line not the movies. so its what we make of this universe ourselves. once this is realized then you'll start having fun

Indene, In the 3 1/2 hours I was there I was the only one around that area. I seen no one in that area the whole time I was there.

Luck of the draw I guess is what it is all about. This is an awsome idea for any non lair spawn, saves time hunting down a new group to see if the baby has a special. I did this for female nargaliches (sp?) and worked two wild spawns back and forth until I had my 3 all with specials, oh and I nabbed a motley kaadu to CL10 with stagger attack L1. The kaadu was on a lair but rince and repeat the baby kept coming back one and again until I bagged one with a special....should we be talking about this exploit on the forum...lol

works fine for lair spawns as well....as I got my baby bull rancor using the go 500m away to let it reset method on a rancor lair...after a couple tries I had a baby bull rancor that I could try to tame...look me 20 tries to tame him though...and I got my barc disabled in the process...

theoretically this should be a way to get babies over and over again from the same lair...or spawn...just have to tame ones that appear then repeat the process...no need to milk lairs for babies....or mindlessly search for random baby spawns...

btw...I don't think this would be considered an exploit since it doesn't "exploit" any known bug...it's simply how the game works...
