The trouble joker is simple economics. Any retail store only has a markup of 1.9 to 2.6. The cheapest resources are .25 or thereabouts to farm. With simple mark up of 2 these resources would cost .5cr to sell. Albeit that does not take into consideration Vendor costs. (I would ask a true salesman to refresh me on on maintenance costs per hour to help figure this into the equation).

So if the minimum a mined resource is going to cost is 10cr then the base maintenance rate must be riased to cost 5cr per resource.

I had a million credits my first week in game. The missions were really paying well then. The problem is not the combat people. It is the crafters. Greed on their part needs to be adujusted before the terminals ever get adjusted.

It is my belief that only a credit purge. And quite possibly a resource purge will rectify the current inflated economy.

Miners need to be certed. Levels of miners should be placed as follows through the tree 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9+ in the Artisan tree. In lieu of a credit purge, so that it creates a whole different distribution of wealth.

Excepting that a lot of players arent making money AFK. Docs dont make nearly as much as crafters and uberlooters. Buffs are very expensive...why?

Because the crafters charge so damn much for resources.

Why?

Because they can, and people will pay for it all the same. There is no supply and demand.

Hey, it was only an idea Sio. Wasn't anything personal.

I agree the fanbase may not be happy. But you know what I have struggled for 11 months to stay CH. They never once thought of me or my CH counterparts.

Vert suggested that TH would try to get us a consolation prize for hang around. I was almost happy today when I heard there might have been an inadvertant character purge of all servers. It meant starting over.

ok 30cpu for 10k = 300k, 22hrs thats 137 credits an hr. wish my real job paid that well lmao

ok sure you can run mokk missions and make that even quicker. the point is people expect to be rich in a very short time wether its missions, crafting, hunting.... the comparison to real life here is definatly out in space lol

Well, this isa game. I also do not have to pay 6000 for a bottle of brandy or half a million for body armor. Everyone seems to blame everyone else. The chef blames the BE and harvester. The harvester blames the chef, weaponsmith, and the armorsmit. The problem is with inflation and the mission terminals. I am a MCH/MTK why would I spend hours killing flits or other avians for 3cpu? I normally get 100cpu for good avian meat and my mailbox if full of emails asking me to hunt at that price when there is a good spawn. Same for good Carn or Herb meat. I get 30 to 50 cpu for that. I can tell when a good resource spawns in because I have 20 emails from my customers begging me to sell to them. I was pulling in 1million a buff session when the Dath Carn meat was good. I could have sold it all to one customer if I wanted to but the others needed it too.

Why are they willing to pay so much? Because they need it and usually either can't harvest it themselves or can make more money spending the time doing something else. They are also making money on that same meat. I make a million and they use the meat and probably make 5 million. The problem is they have to compete with the mission terminals. I can make around 500 to 600k per hour running missions. That plus the loot drops can add anywhere from another 100k to a million if you get some nice drops. Why would I spend 22hrs gathering 10k of Avian Meat if I am only getting 30k? That would not even cover the cost of a buff and the shuttle tickets. I could run low level 5k missions and make alot more in that time.

I'm not disagreeing with you on the difference between missions paying out and cost's of resources, what I said was money is too easy to come by, this in itself brings inflation up and it still doesnt make it right does it. like I said I was an arch/armorsmith sold everything half price and made a decent living.

Ido notbelieve its fair to new players and even oldtimers to charge 125k for a case of brandy?

the question for many is why do you? simple because you can.

well how may exploits or bugs have you encountered. just because you can doesnt make it right.

I know a BE who told a chef they wanted 45k for bio enhancements for brandy the chef screamed highway robbery, that same chef sells crates of brandy for 125k and for the volume they were discussing it seems for many crafters here that they need a 75-200 percent profit or they complain lol

this may not be on every server but greed is the ultimate factor ingame.

pluto is right about too many credits floating around the game, and again I have no solution other than people being fair and stop comparing what others may sell something for and just do what they believe is equitable.

as far as the meat example goes, I do see avian meat as a dev problem also. no creatures who have avian meat can be harvested in large amounts, carni meat is a different story on dant for example you hit grauls, maulers, frenzied, acients for meat and in a few hours you can have 10k of meat easy.

the economy is complex here in that it was supposed to be designed to mimic real life, yes its true its a game but that doesnt mean gouging someone simplybecause you can is right.

the holo grind was a huge economic nightmare and you now see mining resources dropping to reasonable rates. organic resouces are climbing due to the buff demand. but cb may effect this if it ever comes lol

I sell my hide, bone, meat... on the bazaa for 2.5 cpu it doesnt matter what quality and the quantity is usually under 3k sice I have no use for most of what I harvest and I make money doing missions i try to sell stuff new people can buy, I'lseperate my resources in sizes a new guy can affordon bazaaeveryone should have fun playing the game not stressing about how they can get 100 units of meat for a few stims to heal and get xp lol

I look at it this way if you dont need the money then why sell something for the going rate

ive seen many giving people in this game they tip credits around like crazy lol but for some reason resouces is a different story lol

I really think the only good fix for the economies will come from balancing money sinks to payouts. credits are flooding in, but they're LEAVING the system fast enough.
