There are too many Jedi. And I would love to see Rancors eat Luke Wannabe Kenobi.

These are some good thoughts, and I think fixing the existing abilities is akey point. I'm not sure about making CH into an anti-Jedi specialist, though. One of my biggest concerns along those lines would be making CH into a "flavor of the month" profession that people swarm to just to combat the Jedi. Any thoughts along those lines?
I think they should make ALL of the professions anti-Jedi specialists for a month. Maybe then we could end this plague...

That's my template; I dont seem to have a problem with anything thus far. I love having a Large Tank and a Large Flame Dot to boot

Well ultimately I think the devs will need to add something to *every* combat profession to give them a prayer against Jedi, since there are obviously going to be far FAR more Jedi in the game than the entire PvP/GCW design ever imagined a year ago.
Since CH's were pre-balanced into irrelevance, it seems only fair to pre-balance us the other way and make us the first profession with a focused anti-Jedi skillset, either with pets that are force-resistant (seems like one or two breeds on Dathomir that have to live side-by-side with Nightsisters should get a mutation in this area) or pets that have an attack that isn't blockable or that Jedi don't have high resists to, or an attack that literally drains force-power.
I wouldn't want this to be an 'uber' power, certainly not something that would have people flocking to CH as a flavor o' the month ... but enough to make a CH a valuable addition to a group that expected to confront Jedi, instead of a mere 'oh wait it stopped following/ran away/autostored again' annnoyance that CH is the group today.
Give CH's a 'pre-balance' that's positive to make up for the 'pre-balance' that killed us for most of the last year .... is that so wrong?

My friend is a MCH and a watched a jedi take his rancor down in two hits... I checked combat log and just one of the swings took 8000+ health from the poor thing. It was insane!

Won't matter to me, I don't plan on buying JtoL until there's progress on fixing the game I already paid for.

I think medium armor restored to gurrecks, for example, will increase relevance in PVP. I would say that CL 50 pets should just have this level of protection. The loss of medium armor early was one of the desperate nerfs inflicted on CH to solve the dreaded "pokewars" plauge that turned into a public relations disaster for SWG...because CH worked and the other profs did not, CH was the FOTM and there were too many CHs, and the devs had egg on their face as a result of their inadequately betatested game.

I don't know. If I was in space and a rancor was flung out an airlock at my ship, I'd certainly be scared!

I don't understand how, I am a master rifleman/ master CH and I solo w/petsall the time. Even fully buffed/ mind buff/ and 80/70 comp on if I get rushed by 5 Janta's from a Shaman camp at the same time, I am gonna have some problems and a trip to the cloning center would not be out of the question. Strafeshow 2 is not easy to pulloff at close range with 5 Janta's beating on you. If i try to solo Enraged Rancors (maybe even regular rancors) without my pets, again it would not go well for me with three Rancors chewing on me. I guess my point is that without my Pets tanking and taking the aggro, doing the lairs I am doing would be an extremely risky proposition. Not a noob either 9 months in game, and have been MRM/MCH the whole time.

I'm a wookieeMCH with 2,3,0,3 in rifles and I can take all but the biggest PvE opponents without even calling a pet - and I haven't really tried the bigger ones yet so I might even be able to take them. Even with my less effective wook armor and a handful of buffs, the damage heals faster than I can suffer it. If I, with no combat mastery, can solo most mobs without using my pets I'm pretty sure most people could do the same.

I'm also back for the 10 daysand have noticed the same things, but you forgot we are now irrelevant in PvE, too (unless you count using us to get better missions in "solo groups")

I would disagree on being irrelevant in PvE. I solo all the time, since I'm levelling Rifleman. I can tell you that while as a 0-0-1-1 I don't have several Rancors to back me up. . .yet, my pets have helped me out in the wilderness. I was out hunting with a friend of mine who is an MCH, and his pets were a tremendous asset to us.

oooo i like the idea of higher level pets being anti-jedi.....and too true there are too many jedi.....they are supposed to be rare because they are so powerful but i see them everyday and instead of saying "OH LOOK! A JEDI!" i say "there goes another one....."

You shouldn't be, seeing as how the vacuum of space will kill it almost instantly.

Hmmm, I'm back for the 10 days as well.. and then went ahead and bought a 60 day card. By not using the Crerdit Card I figured I could just dabble. LOL
Anyways, I had always dabbled in CH usually ust to use them as a meat puppet while I worked on a PvP/GCW template. But this time around I made a new Wookie and went full bore CH/Ranger. Basically I'm a Druid. Why not. With alll the balancing, exploit and plain old boredomproblems in the GCW/Jedi Killing living out in the woods ain't such a bad thing.
And I never have to bathe
