Thread: New BE pets: Size proportionate to creature level.
Great, so we're going to end up with people having rancor sized Durni's now?
Bleh, no high level BE pets for me then. I don't my pets to be freaking huge, I pick the skins I do because they aren't so huge I can't see around them.
I am going to really hate it if this size thing comes in. I have always bought BE cats as they are often a little smaller in size but much better than wild. We now need to group to hunt and groups HATE big pets. They obstruct view and prevent others in group targetting clearly when tab isn't always working as it should. Also in dungeons and bunkers, my smaller cats were welcome - something the size of a faamba wont be.
Seeing pets which should be small like a durni, looking enormous, is just totally unrealistic. This is not going to be one of their better ideas - unless they put a stop growing command for size of pet. keep a small size while still growing to full adulthood.
And what about non master Creature Handlers? Say their highest creature level is 14. They're stuck with something that never grows past mini baby size?
And people who just want a CL 10 mount? Are they miniature too?
I do not understand why this was even changed.
I know that groups, especially random pickup groups, tend to hate large pets. Heck, they tend to complain about small pets even. Last time I was leading a group like that, I informed the complainers that a CH using pets is equivalent to other classes using a weapon, and that they need to use them for XP. I gave them a noob-refresher course in "targetting 101" (short version: tab is your friend) and was able to quell the uprising.
I've found that doing that explanation works pretty well... There will be a couple folks that whine and complain and bail out of the group, but in general those are the types that would have pulled everything that moves onto your group anyhow.

I just tamed a pre CU CL65 dune lizard I BE'd (when I was a BE), it started off the same size as a normal DL.... Think this thing will grow up to be near Kimo size
Pre-CU pets don't seem to be affected by the new sizes, my CL 35 bearded jax is the same size as a wild one while my CL 13(69) Jax is already larger than it :/.
