Thanks for the positive post. I (MCH/3-4-4-4 BE/nov rifle) just spent the weekend with my pets and a friend (nov TKA/nov CH/nov BE) harvesting on Yavin. We had a blast taming, fighting and sampling. Neither of us uber, but no pets died and only a few incaps for the TKA (silly lad kept burning through his mindpool). Came home with new babies, both natural and BE'd, to admire and train.

It's good to remember the fun now and again!

Its good to see some one else who enjoys the proff. I should tame more, just I don't have room for more pets.

Oh and I love Woolamanders, I got 4, and some of my guild mates call em the evil monkeys, lol great fun.

I don't know why all you guys have problems with it, cause I'm never dropping ch (not for a long period of time at least and not completely).

I agree whole heartedly. I have been a CH since the beginning. I love it. True we are worthless in PVP now, and we have no real way of making money, But I have to say that I love the fact that with my pets I have an instant PVE group whenever I want.

I am a MCH because I like having pets, worthless or not. At least half of my pets are only in my datapad for looks. My favorite pet is my woolomander. Why, because it looks cool

I completely agree. Why else would i have 3 klicknics, 2 Giant Sand beetles and 3 plains tusk cats.I love me mittens! (PTC)

Some of us have been CH since the beginning. Most of us old timers have moved on or quit because, like a previous post said, once you've tamed rares and had all of the pets you could want you've pretty much run the gamot of what CH is all about. I had great fun taming all of the pets I did. I enjoyed CH just like you all here. What happened to me is a combination of things. I've been dragged through all of the CH changes and I stayed with it hoping for the best. In the end I lost my own interest in it. Partly because I've done everything I wanted to with the profession and my new interest in PVP requires a much different template to compete. There's not much else for CH that I would want to experience, besides being able to pull out pets and roleplay a bit. I can do that with non-CH. The nice thing about being an MCH is I can replace my CH pets with non-CH pets and have 22 slots full of non-CH pets to play with even though I will no longer have CH. I'm stocking up on non-CH mounts and all the little critters I could want. If you fill your CH slots, then drop CH your pets stay in the datapad and since they're all non-CH you should be able to call them. My own ingenious way of having the best of both worlds.

I know where you newer CH's are coming from because I've been there. At the same time you should also consider CH's of old like myself and why we've moved on.

I can tell you from experience that even as a master pistoleer, I would get pwnd by most mid-high level mobs if it weren't formy trusty meat shields, unless I buff, but that is for sissies.

I have been a CH for months and it's still a fun skill for me. It does very little in the PVP world, but PVE it does just fine.

I don’t have much interest in PvP anyway... so CH is the perfect way to enjoy the game for me

Most of us who hate CH do not hate the profession itself. Most of us who hate CH, really hate the Devs. The Devs nerfed us with much zeal and relished doing it. Citing dabblers as evil, although this game was designed for dabblers. So the tree was spread to make dabbling a little harder. Yet, any CH can dabbler flamethrower 4 and be really super effective, Pistoleer to Fanshot (personal experience this rules PvE) or any other combination of quick AOE specials. We hate the Devs because our dabblers were unwanted. So the dabblers are gone. The elusive combat reblance is now ranked up there with the Loch Ness Monster. Both have been sighted but they never appear for the masses so we can believe in them. Now that SOE is back peddling from their hasty yet seemingly necessary nerfs we cannot get an answer as to OUR state of the game. Devs have asked me to be silent. The dissidents are raising too much fuss. I will likely get banned before I bite my tongue. Some of you will find that tolerable. When you do not advocate yourselves you will have less voice. We are being ignored regardless of how nice or outspoken we are. The peace accord got 2 post from RuinedSabre. Then 2 more weeks of silence. The only way to get things done is voice your displeasure. Those of us who voice our displeasure really do not hate the class. It is the lack luster and methodical disassembling of the profession we hate. Our dabblers were going to leave with the spreading of skill points through the trees. The stealth nerf of weakened pets removed manymore long time CH/MCH. You can choose to like your diminished role in the universe. But it does not change the fact that you are diminished because the Devs have shat on you. Now they are rubbing your face in it. You choose to say it smells like roses. I choose to say it stinks. We should be more than roleplaying Space Age Steve Irwins. Oh crikey mate there is the elusive Frenzied Graul (baby). These things are so rare. Months of looking for them should not be the only excitement a CH has. PvE is not very pleasant knowing you have to Master yet another skill to even remotely participate. My pets all autostore on me at once on Dathomir last night. This is another reason to hate the Devs. They will not do anything have it. The only good CH is a dead CH.

JustG calls the slower scheduling of the rebalance the greatest thing ever. Further showing that they have forgotten us. We are weak.Others were granted stronger abilities.JustG is JustClueless to the needs of CH, our desire to be a little more viable as a profession. He evades answering questions much like his fellow red named brethren. This has many of seeing red. ThunderHeart is well documented as hating our class with his stratification of weakening us because we were uber and pokemon players. Yet even prenerf TKM could own my pets, Commando and BH's ruled my pets. The misguided and incompetent Dev team needs to take 2 weeks off and play the game. See what is happening.

I have two conclusions, first enjoy the game while you still can. Been there tamed that. Then after you have done it all. Or cannot do any more because your datapad is full and you do not want to release this tame or destroy the other, you might see where the longterm CH is coming from.

Secondly those of us who do hate, are not against you casual players that do have fun. We are however against the Dev team that seems to find more ways to restrict CH beyond any reasonable point. 60 second timers for combat changing while, other PvPers can exchange Armor and Equipment rather quickly (pokemon that TH you ****wad). The rebalance is as believable as Never Never Land at this point. We are not without compassion for those who enjoy the profession. We tried with every fiber of our being to avoid asking for nerfs of other classes. It is inevitable that we must demand our reinstatement to pre-nerf status in light of the new facts that the combat rebalance will not come. That was a hoax perpetrated by the Devs to gain mass support for a nerf. People will believe anything that comes from someone in authority positions. Devs use this knowledge to twist the game in ways that they wish. Medium armor is gone. I cannot knock down any wild creature, yet my pets spend a lot of time on their backs in PvP. We do not hate CH we hate the Devs and the crock they feed us anytime they do speak. There will be no rebalance. And I do not have to be happy about it. Those of us who do hate do not hate you, but we are struggling against a system that tries to suppress our class and more recently suppresses the vocal people who are not happy. If you will not advocate the fight, at least do not hate us for trying to get our dignity returned.

Again kudos to you for enjoying and my hat is off to my fellow dissidents.

Sign for Hutt Faction here: Hutt Faction

Not against broad changes, just profession specific ones (read as CH) that go against what we've been told in the past.

Being a CH was great when I was leveling up it. The pets have been wonderful on my harvester runs, protecting me from harm. I finally reached master in Jan, and looked around. Hmmmmm, hunt for some rares - long and hard. Hunt? hardly, my alt is a Master swordsman, Ranger 4-3-4-3 and hunts 10 times better and faster.

It is fun to tame, getting a rare is a great experience. But the datapad only holds so much - I think it should hold more pets of different levels (say 15 pets up to level 15, 10 of 16-25, etc) I do tame the odd rancor and grual mauler and give them away to up and coming CH's.

A word of advice...

If you ever decide you want to drop CH, but you want to keep some pets to have fun with, then get rid of all CH-only pets and fill your datapad with non-CH pets, fully train them (especially mounts) and THEN drop CH. You will have a datapad full of little pets to keep you happy long after you've dropped CH. That's what I did and I've not had one pang of regret with dropping CH.
