We know that. But there's no way to grind this one. You just have to get out there and do it.

you know what? I still have pics from my newbie days with a tag team of graul maulers tanking a krayt dragon... man those were the days!

Your tag team won't work too well, since you can't swap pets in combat.

I almost gave up CH because the last 4 boxes is around 600 tames. Think about it thats a lot of senseless tames. A friend put a macro together that is grinding my last 4 boxes as I type. This lets me then tame what I want to tame and hunt for unusual pets when I'm in game because I'm not worried about finding every frigging baby I can all the time.
Find a decent spawn spot in a noob garden, one that isn't frequented like around the less traveled cities. Get yourself 1 or 2 decent sub level 10 pets and build a macro to agro a creature with a weapon you aren't very good at. Give it a few seconds to get to you then tell the pets to attack it. After a few more seconds switch to a weapon you are proficient with and kill the agroed critter. The best pets I've found so far are two baby swamp tusk cats between 1 and 3 days old. You won't get a lot of exp per kill from 70 to 80 but you will get it over and over while taking care of real life.
I didn't understand AFK macroing at all till I almost gave up CH out of frustration. I'm not necessarily in a huge hurry to master it but at the same time I do want to complete it eventually. With all my friends finishing all their specialities I was always slowing us up by everyone having to wait while I tamed the baby spawns. Now I can relax and only look for tames I care about.
Right now the hunt is on for wasteland cu pa. If I can just stay out of range of all those tuskins.

It really is more fun to do it yourself. I finished my last four boxes in four days (about 4 hours a day) solo doing the same thing you did, but I actually clicked my way through it. Just remember . . . you never earned those boxes. Your friend who can figure out how to macro did it for you.

You are right Blindy but I did have fun doing real CH stuff that had personal meaning. I found my wasteland cu pa last night That was 4 days of searching through all the waypoints, avoiding tuskins and diseased bocatts, and generally having a blast. The "grind" that every profession has is really pathetic, not just in this game but every one I've encountered so far.
Its too bad that developers can't either provide enough content to prevent endless repeating and clicking the same activity or lower requirements to remove the need. I played one game A Tale In The Desert that had no levels. It seemed really nice till you found that you were doing even more clicking gathering resources to build buildings to solve puzzles.
Now I will say I have no plan to drop this profession for a very long time. Its getting close to rare searching time. I'm debating but will probably start with the GPS or GSP since I like cat skins and it isn't an adventure planet search so I can refine my search technics.

Oh and Blindy my child is a year from starting college and I was 31 when he was born so thanks for the pat but I'm able to make fairly mature decisions
