I found a couple last night north and just a tad west of coronet... Soon as i tamed one, another appeared. And it was a different color! still a gwrix. Buy one get one free. i like it.

One hint to novice CH's, wait until you trigger the maskscent reward on all the aggros in the lair. If you are able to do this, you can pretty much hang out in the lair unnoticed. I am not sure how long it takes for the aggros to reset, or if they ever do. Everytime i follow this rule, I get the tame no problem. Don't feel like hanging out in the nest to test the length...

I probably shouldnt have said anything tho, it might get nerfed.

They seem to be in two places on Corellia.

N/NW of Kor Vella just at the bottom of the hills.

All around the river banks in the plains area between Coronet and Kor Vella.

So, correct me if i'm wrong, and i'm sure you will, aren't Grand Wixs just a poor mans version of the Gurreck, at least in looks. What's the major draw of this pet. I was on Talus for about 5 mins, found a grand wix baby, trained it, and the stats don't seem to be that awesome, i'm probably missing something. Unless this is a novice's best pet before the large ones.

Heh, I guess I got lucky.

Found mine the first time I went to Corellia, the first time I saw a pack of Wrix, and tamed it my first try without any of themnoticing me.

DOH!! I saw one last night right outside the Imperial Outpost on Talus. I didn't tame it!! It was late, I was tired, I had just been incapped by a Giant Daylrake because I was stupid and in my underwear(dont ask), it had 2 mottled wrixes guarding it and was near Binayre smugglers(hate thoseSOBs) and I just didnt feel like dealing at the time.

Color me stupid...

Oh look a crayon.

Imperial Outpost on Talus. There are many many nifty creatures to tame or fight out there. Wrixs of all sorts, Greater Sludge Panthers, etc.

the grand wrixes are half the level of gurrecks so you get more xp for fighting the same creatures. There's also the incentive if you're on corellia and don't want to move to another planet right now.

Hiya

Well I consider myself very very lucky to have my Grand Wrix.. I searched and searched for 5 hours total this is on Raidiant server I wandered and wandered and Finally found mine mixed with some mottled wrix I was Bobbing in out and and Bingo finnaly lured him out into the open it took 6 or 7 times till he finnaly trained. he is fully grown now and I can say what a blast it was watching him grow and become more powerful.I think I will always have Scratchy.. He was around the rebel hideout on Correllia the hunt it worth it and the time spent looking has been well rewarded. Everyone screams Rancor this Rancor that honestly I can say I wont ever have one maybe just to see I can tame and release it looooooooong way to go until then.To me its not about having the most powerful pet in the universe but a good companion and trustworty and loayal is what is about. Can't stand the ones who dableinto Ch and have pets with huge mind wounds or half healed its terrible to see. So happy hunting and goodluck on the search for the Grand Wric fine creature to have.

By far the easiest way is to grab two Wrix missions. Find the first lair and /waypoint that spot if there is nothing of interest at the time. Then move to your second missions and /waypoint it. Keep moving between the two and killing critters to pass the time. Eventually, there will be a grand wrix (baby) as mobs around lairs despawn and respawn as different creatures. Also, beware of the Mottled Wrix. Burst run does not out run them and always have warning shot (or threaten shot) ready to get them away so you can clear aggro. Good Luck!

Dreamflayer,

Grand wrixes are awesome if you go to the caves by the Jedi temple on Dantooine. They have 100% heat protection and hardly get damaged at all because the animals in the cave have a heat based attack. Also they are pretty good XP when you want to take out a humbaba or two real quick.
