I've really stretched my mind to see a reason for this, and I just can't. If you're in combat, you can't pull a pet anyways, so TH's point is completely moot, unless people were doing something they shouldn't be able to do. In that case, fix the bug, don't feed us crap lines about not only how this is fixing a game problem that didn't exist for real without an exploit in the first place, but saying that its what we asked for.
BT, one of the problems with this issue is that on the old general forum TH got beaten up one side and down the other, not only by the hated pokemasters, but by artisans and others who didn't want to invest 15 SP just to toss up a camp so they could get their speeder bike back that just poofed out from underneath them. CHs had been complaining about the camp calling requirement for months, but once the issue broke out into the general player population with the introduction of vehicles that disappeared out from underneath you, it got traction. Then TH tried to justify it and was cut down by logic and the facts. This has to hurt. His poor reasoning skills and ignorance did him in...he had to be embarassed by this. So, now he gets his revenge, demonstrating that he's at heart one of the people who cries 'nerf!' whenever he gets pwned in PvP.
In the process, we learned that camps have not been operating as Holocron originally envisioned them, and that illusory "griefs" were the reason for the camping requirement...issues that were settled long, long ago and that camping would NEVER have resolved, anyway, because in metropolitian areas you have ALWAYS been able to call at will. The no call while in combat and the no return pet to datapad until 60 seconds after the pet has been out of combat rule solved the girefing concern, but TH continues with the poke-slur again and again, displaying his bigotry to anyone with multiple operational synapses to see.

The Funniest part of the Whole Poke mon comments is TH's answer to CH and Anti Pet attitude.... "The Droid Invasion"... This will be different how?
Actually, Holo's original vision for camps that he was referring to was that people would place a camp and use it as a staging area for hunting in the wilderness, thus always having a camp available for calling pets. He couldn't understand why people weren't doing this, until we reminded him that camps disappear when you enter combat. If I remember his response, it was "Oh. Right." That was the turning point, I think, was when it really hit home that camps were only being placed for the briefest periods of time, and it truely was a "whip out the camp, take your ten seconds to heal/call a pet, and walk away".
Honestly I think that they're feeding us a line and just wanted to ensure the delay to call a pet in the wild would be the same, only now it would require no resources. I know I can throw down a camp and pull a pet in much less than 30 seconds though. When calling works, that is.

Also depends on how many times your pet Autostores too..

Back when the concerns about too many creature pets were at their height, people were screaming that creature pets were "unbalancing" and that "players should be the tanks", but also that "they (creature pets) were not 'starwarsy'".
So they suggested that droids would be.
And I pointed out that changing the skin of the pet from meat to metal was not going to address any of the balance or "players should be the tanks" concerns.
No one could effectively answer that point.
Now, over the protests of the DEs, TH and the devs are trying to conjure up this "Droid Invasion" event, which is inherently "unstarwarsy" as there were no droid armies in Eps IV or V, and Lucas has stated (listen to the comments on the Ep I DVD) that there are reasons why you don't see droid armies in the timeframe that SWG is set. So, in order to replace the terrible unstarwarsy creature pets, the devs are bringing in unstarwarsy (according to some nobody named George Lucas, no less) droid armies to take their place.
This is dumbassitude at its finest.
Droids are there to do the drudgework. But the devs can't have anyone but players do drudgework...drudgework is part of the skill grind, the only content they've got.

Its too bad. The really SAD part of the whole thing is they have a GREAT Game, that when its working is honestly the Best I have played with the Most potential for diversity I have seen, allowing people that want to play for economics play that role, for combat (well Sorta play that role),If you want to bake a cake and sell it bake a cake and sell it.It Used to be if you want to run solo and explore, you could with the help of your pets. It was FUN to go out and search for new pets totame...Their insistance on the Push to force people into Groups, neglecting the fact that everyone Had the option of grouping if they wanted to.Most CH'sknow you cant Tame Creatures when you are grouped with Anyone, that is Not a CH. The baby ends upgetting killed, either by mistake or on purpose...
But they are, in their Infinite Lack of wisdom, slowly killing it... They are For SURE slowly killing the Fun for me anyhow. Its a shame..
This is the only Game I have played personally for more then a Month consistantly, and actually wanted to play. One of those, You cant put down games... Lately it is getting easier to do that.
Hopefully they don't continue on thier path.
