I just showed up here from the BH boards. A couple of things I can tell you: First, nobody over there is talking about CH/BH combo. The templates people are considering are primarily BH/TKM, BH/Commando and BH/Pistoleer. The other thing is that every BH I've ever met is interested in hunting Jedi. Really, if you're not interested in hunting human marks, then why bother becoming a BH at all?

So anyway, the reason I came by is that I am interested in CH/BH, largely for RP reasons. I just love the idea of fighting with a pet. But I've had the impression that CH is no longer a great choice for PvP and has largely become a very efficient PvE profession. Is that correct?

Thanks!

I have noticed no one is speaking of a CH/BH combo on the BH boards, I am kinda glad about that. I have also noticed all the talk of getting more defense mods from elite Marksman professions, which is a really good idea for them. I just never wanted to give up MCH to go MBH, but now I can at least try it out. I am happy about this.

Pets are great in PvE if you are not a Master of an elite Combat Profession. While MRM I barely used my pets when in a group, well the occasional Graul/Graul Mauler combo when taking on AT STs at Faction bases. I only use Doc buffs when my MDoc friend is on as he doesn't have to heal me as often if I am buffed, so it allows him to concentrate on other things. I am slowly dropping Rifle skills to dabble in BE, I find my pets much more useful again. Although for me they have always been useful when I hunted, as I hunted solo without buffs, and only an Ubese Armor jacket if I was getting rushed by a new target. That Ubese jacket was only 18% kinetic resists, until I picked up the new one last week at 71%.

Anyway, it depends on how you play the game, instead of the game playing you. I do what I like to do, and I don't complain that I got beat from time to time. I just learn what not to do next time, then I do it again, and try to remember why I wasn't supposed to do that

If you choose CH, good luck in your adventures. I will recommend one thing. Don't use all BE pets. Go out and tame a few babies, and you might find a new perspective on being a CH which is much like BH, the thrill of hte hunt. Good luck,

Well I'm aiming for the BH-CH combo. I'm right now MCH and am almost Master Marksman again for the friday fix, where I'll toss over my combat XP, grab BH, and start leveling on that. I suspect my pets will help me do the missions easier, which is to my gain.

CH presents a good thing to BHs seeing as now Jedi are becoming increasingly stronger, too strong at levels for a single Bounty Hunter to take them. Bounty Hunters will soon need to probabally begin hunting Jedi in teams, the only way they'll probabally manage to take down a Jedi. Being a CH probabally adds more appeal to Bounty Hunters seeking team members, seeing as how you can draw off fire for some time and perhaps add some status effects such as poisons and diseases to the target Jedi.

I'm going the MCH/BH route. My sole purpose will be hunting jedis. I figure with Jedi weak mellee defense and no armor, a few lvl 60 BE pets taking a few whacks should result ina quick kill. I may be missing something as I've only dabbled in CH up to now.

Until 2 weeks ago I was

master CH

master Scout

master Marksman

with

Medic with first aid 3

and

Novice Bounty Hunter

it rocked for PVE for hunting, might not have been the fastest takedowns out there but I swear it was fun. Bounty Hunter has some great weapons in my opinion. The LLC (light lightning cannon) hits that electricity vulnerability of many creatures and with the new droids out there you can really take down alot stuff. I bet theres alot of people out there that never try fambaas and such cause they remember how hard they were in the begining.

Now im grinding out Teras Kasi cause my holo said TK and because my previous combo totally sucked at places like the Genosian Caves. Ive always hated the Tk proffesion due to the fact that CH made me a bit bitter of the nerf the pet Tanks and create a Human Tank issue . Im trying my best to hold onto Master Creature Handler atleast until the rebalance, But eventually ill go back and have some fun with Bounty Hunter.

Your pets certainly will help you with the missions. As a Wookiee CH who picked up novice BH, I can attest that I have never had a problem taking down a mark, nor have I ever been killed by one.I never needed armor or buffs. I didn't even have novice medic as many BHs do. Send the pet in and take out the mark from a safe distance. I'm probably one of the few BHs who is moving up Investigation faster than the the BH pistol or LLC line. Like a true BH, I use any means at my disposal to get the job done. My command of creatures is the method I happen to use.

That realy depends on the jedi. I know one jedi that has master LS and jedi defence 4... the saber makes him deflect almost all ranged and the def 4 reduces melee dammage by a huge amount. That and I sent my stronget pet agianst him in a duel, pet lasted about 7 seconds and didnt do that much dammage to him while it was alive.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

I imagine most BH's will go the TKM route to battle the deflection ability of jedi.

I can attest to that, I was in my base, armored, buffed, selecting missions. ZOOM comes a red dot out of nowhere engages me in combat and in 3 seconds, 4 hits, I was at the cloning center. Weee!

Though I will say that bh compliments ch wonderfully. If you use the right pets and attacks. So much of bh is laying states on other players. Which in a by gone era used to mean something. Until the dizzy did not matter because you could never knock a player down, and bleeds, and heck even burns just do not do the damage they used to. Thumbs up on the weapons delay and the limited burn stacking devs. God forbid we have a way to get around buffs. So anything that lets you apply even one more state is a good thing. Give me a disease and a poison, and let me ratchet up the fear factor. I guess I use pets differently then most in pvp. I sort of tank for my pet, and use my pet like a states powerup.

Though its hilariour as hell to watch some guy get uber ticked as I use one of these pets with poison disease on him. Infact I used one of these techniques in a few duels. Just to hear them say something like my pets are exploits, and that they must be exploits because pets arent supposed to disease and poison. Had another guy say it was unfair that ch needed nerfed.

They should put a new profession terroirst in the game for anyone that can lay down dizzy stun blind bleed burn poison disease. If being a stat gouger aint to your likeing get a pet with knockdown. If you a master bh you got sprayshot hit that and use a pets knockdown. Crippling strike works just a little less better it makes it easier for your knockdown to work.

Personally I dumped BH entirely as soon
as i heard of the idiotic developer decision
to lower the requirements.

Currently TK 0344 / CH 4314 / Riflemen 0101 / Medic 1000
