when is it coming in? and I see I can't even call my dewback so does this mean only a CH can ride mounts?

Mounts in game = unknown


Since everyone will be able to use them, I suspect they will be more like an item rather than a pet. Perhaps CHs will get option upon taming - train as pet or train as mount which permanently makes said critter into a pet or mount.

Wouldn't it be better to train it just like the attack or follow command for a mount? I don't want to have to get completely new pets for mounts

Agreed, but only CHs of an exceptional caliber should be able to fight while on their mount, and while their mount is fighting. How cool would that be?

I'll stick by my 2 cents!! The developers will keep it as simple as possible - Mounts will be items, probably even stored in your inventory rather than datapad. No HAM bar or CL for mounts either so the "muggles" can use em. The Leezard hath spoken, SOE let it be written, SOE let it be done! <sorry poor pun...>

I have a strong suspicion that when mounts are introduced, there will be an "Elite Eilte" profession added to the Creature Handler that will deal in training mounts. I only say that based on what they are doing with the Urban Planner Elitex2 profession.

Interesting post about riding the mount and having it attack at the same time. I wonder if they devs are going to make Mounts non-agressive creatures where they will run away instead of attacking? I think the main view of the devs has been to add more dynamic to the game instead of making an All in One type creature or player class.


No mater what they make mounts do or not do, be sure that Mounts will be faster than our standard run speed, but might or might not be faster than the burst run. Possibly even making all non-CH mounts the same speed so that there is not one mount better than the other. Its very possible that mounts will quit running if you do not feed or play with them often. Mounts will probably also take up one CH pet spot so if you are Master CH you get 2 pets and 1 mount out. I hope those pets can keep up.


I want to ride my Grand Wrix or some Cat type Creature.

hmm... I hope that travel speed will be a new stat when you look at your pet on the data pad. I hope that BEs will be able to make pets with high travel speeds, that way we can start having pet races... Mabey even play for money or even pink slips

Did you read in the Development section that there are going to be six different creatures that are mountable, including Dewbacks & Kaadus...what do you think the other four will be? I say the Bantha, Ronto, Cu pa (since they're basically Tuantuans), and Falumpaset...not to mention all the various look-a-likes...that's just my guess though, what do you guys think?
