Thread: Where Have All the Babies Gone?

It has got to do with servers and I will tell you why. I am on sunrunner and I cannot go very long without tripping over a baby. Though I am also a BH so I stay far from cities alot of the time. Here is what I think is happening. The game is balanceing the issue of lag and creature spawn. The more lag on a given server and area on such server will determine the ammount of wild spawn. On buildable planets like rori and talus the spawn is natually low because there are too few players for the system to bother generateing them. The old tree in the woods analogy. Remember even though nobody is near the mobs must still spawn.

If your on a heavy server there aint much your going to do about the player generated dearth, but you can go at it by another root.

Yavin4 Endor dathomir. These are non buildable worlds so the creatures seem less spawned. They are advanced planets which limits the ammount of mass groupings like say on dantooine on many servers pushing out natural spawns. Finally there is one last way to generate wild spawns. Go to say talus and take five or six missions the system seems to read that the area is in use and will adjust the spawn accordingly. Thats how i got my GSP.

Lastly the krayt dragons are spawning intentionally. We have more jedi in the game now and they absolutely need pearls and lots of them. Krayts are boss mobs now too so thats the content for level 80s and last but not least its always been the case that krayts spawn outside of the krayt graveyard. All you needed to do was go out deep in the wilds somewhere and you would trip over one. They have just lessened the restrictions that made hunting them a total pain.

(Corbantis server)Found lots of babies on Dathomir. Then moved to Naboofor lower level babies and have hd no probs finding them around Moenia. Not surprised you haven't found a lot on Talus - never has been heavily populated - but very odd you haven't found them on Corellia. Think I'll try there next, see if I encounter same.

Hey Dodece--

Can you tell me why the HECK we got juveniles LIVING in the Krayt GRAVEYARD, right over the POI, lol? That is soooo weird. Probably another jedi accommodation for the game that isn't supposed to have any. I thought the graveyard was only for ancient krayts dragging their carcasses there to die....oh well.

They oughtta rename this game Jedi Wars and be done with it.

I have been finding that if I stay in an area for a good deal of time, creatures start spawning. Once the first few are spawning, I continue to find new creatures in the area.

As someone already mentioned, it has to do with player cities and bases really. For some reason, having too many cities and bases seems to screw up the natural spawns. If your server has a lot of bases and cities on a given "wild" planet other than Dantooine, then your going to have a heck of a time finding any spawns there. Bria is capped on player cities for both Talus (I guess people like to have cities for Au'kuan missions or something) and Lok, so its nearly impossible to find wild spawns. Even if you go out into the very wild areas, it doesn't matter. I may try around the Au'kuan cave though, that might work.

It seems that the server puts spawns wherever there are people, until the spawns are capped. Cities and bases seem to lower the cap, so the only place to find anything would be around populated areas, and even there a lot of cities and bases can cause the numbers to be really low.
