I will also agree that the skill "seems" more like a grief skill than a valid combat skill.
Now I think we are moving in the right direction as far as a solution
1- instead of asking for a removal of the skill from the Jedi give us something to defend it, somehow
2- by presenting the skill as a "grief" is a much more catchy term and puts it in a more correct light for discussion
3- adding much much needed content to our proffesion ratrher than taking content away ( did I whine about how much i miss my Giant Peko Peko yet?)
realize that I am not opposed to ideas being presented on this topic, I just think that the "removal of the skill" will not happen. however if we can present a clear cut solution such as the one that's being brain stormed now, we stand a much better chance.
The ablity to defend is what I think we are starting to look at here, wich brings to light the question of SEA's for pets as another idea. Allowing you to further customize your creature to fit your play style( just throwing it out there) anyway one of these SEA's could be loaylty incress, or mind def or something.

I was so happy when it said our pets didn't lose vitality. I was fighting with (Blinky) my little kimogila and he gets incapped, I go to store him and I notice he has 98/100 vitality. Now, I have NEVER had a pet lose vitality. I have been a creature handler since the beginning of August '03. I still have my first two pets, and if something gets in danger, I'll /taunt what I am fighting to draw the attack away, and I die instead of my pets. I've played the game for over a year, and when my pet lost vitality for the first time, I was very upset. I won't use pets in PvP fora long time now, and if a Jedi tries to get the pet to attack me, I won't let the pet lose vitality nor could I stand attacking it. The Devs really need to get their act together and take notice how we feel about our pets.

...when attempted to be used in PVP, the system should say "This pet appears to be too devoted to its owner to turn it against them" and, by the way, does 10000 damage to your mind.
Comedy aside... I agree with some people in this thread. We need not shout for skill removal but for skill addition. Give us something to regain control of our pets and make it scale with the number of boxes of CH earned.
Cheers,

I'd rather die and take the wounds and time to get them healed then let my pet die.
Can't say I can always pull this off, but, the Idea is still there. I care about my little gurreckbits of code.

Or maybe get an ability at MCH to take back control of the pet. /rally or /shaketosenses.
Would be another add for becoming MCH. in this way the mindtrick might stop us a second to
/rally the pet, but not "backfire our weapon".
Of course, there has to be a timer, to try mindtricking again on a rallied pet.

Hi
i can not believe what im reading hear, a jedi can turn a MCH pet against him, and some of you are saying its ok but make it in the skill tree that the highter you go up the less chance, a jedi has of turning your pet against you is that really want you want, to have to KILL your PET that you have had since you tamed it from a baby... i totaly disagree, if thay want to let a jedi control a wild animal to attack youwhich happens to be near you both then ye thats ok, whats the point of being a MASTER CREATURE HANDLER if you can not trust or rely on your pets because thiers a chance a jedi can turn them against you,,, when are thay going to stop picking on MCHs specialy with this stupid stupid stupid idea...

That what I think as well . . . at Master, they should have ZERO chance of this working. None. Nada. Zip. Our pets should look that Jedi straight in the face and tell 'em to ef off as they try to take another layer of skill off their FS hides, lol.

So.... What the devs are saying is that these jedi in game are more powerful than Obi-wan, Anakin, or Luke Skywalker? Obi and Anakin were on the ropes because of the critters in Ep2 and Luke had to drop a gate on the rancor in Ep 6. If they had the ability to use the animals with mind tricks they would have, right?
