Thread: To the dev’s: CH and PVP. Please read.

Sheesh... is that hard to understand that currently pets are weak in pvp because they have been balanced for the upcoming class and combat revampe.
That doesn't meant pets will be effective after the revampe but currently "we" can't make any true comparison with the other combat class.
If that is the case, then great, it will all be fixed. My post was simply to get an acknowledgement from the dev's that they do see the problem and are planning to fix it. I never asked them how they plan to.

Its not where the dice will fall thats worrying me......its when. When is the rest of the balancing going to take place because in all honestythe level of frustration CH's are experiencing is almost inconceivable. Pets were useful. Now they have some use but compared to the way they were.....its a total joke
Maybe an advanced search on the TC board can answer your question.

So that they are used strategicaly as shields or diversions or forfilling a set task but not mostly v other players.
They should have much stronger armors and resistances but they should rightly be vulnerable
to the heavy commando weapons...and perhaps maybe rancors can resist the flamthrower etc etc.
but still v a large number of players pets should go down fairly fast if the weapon type they are vulnerable to is used against them.
The problem is as seen before in other games ,if pets are able to desimate eveything and everyone in their path you end up with everyone as a ch and that reults in "PetWars" not "StarWars."

Problem with CH was the dabbling. When they redistributed all the skills over the ch tree AND changed our pets along with it, wasn't a nice combo. Pretty much a devistation for us.
Now no one really dabbles in ch anymore...
I have read the posts and I feel that using MCH exclusivley is a certain death sentence for you and your pets...this is true.
But, when you add a skill to the equation, things change. What skill you choose is up to you. Some are better matches with MCH and some are not.
I was a MCH and a Master Hvy. Swordsman. I was swords for many months (well before CH). I must say that I got my butt kicked pretty good. The pets wouldn't really do anything to slow down my opponent and he simply ran from me, kiting all the way. I couldn't get near him. If I was a TKM it would have been the same.
From that point on I dropped swords and learned Rifleman. The difference is night and day. Utilizing several combos of pets: 3 gurrecks cl-22-23 with KD and Dizzy on each -or- 2 CL35 one with Deadly Poison, One with Stun -or- CL60+ with hi kinetic and a Str. Disease or Poison, I have had much success on the battlefield.
The first advantage I have found with using multiple pets at once is confusion. Even for a second, it gives you and edge. You can get off that bleed shot and keep your distance as he tries to get to you, fighting off the beasts at the same time. Common knowledge tells combatants to take out the creature handler first then to take pets out. Thistheory that everyone has when they go up against a CH can also be a double edged sword (yay swords!) as they cannot take you out and they are now poisoned/diseased/whatever along with the bleed you gave them. I have a blast killing rebels. Yea, sometimes I mess up and let a TK get near me and they take me on the KD/Dizzy carnival ride, but I take it all in stride and learn from my experience.
This doom and gloom stuff has to go. If you have the attitude that you suck at PVP then you'll always suck. You must adaptrather than wait for the devs to make a change (do you think no other class has had to adapt)...God knows when/if that'll happen, so why play the waiting/crying game? I guess if you are a CH/melee, you have your work cut out for you in the PVP world. I made a change and it has worked out. To me being a CH/melee is the same as a CH/chef-just doesn't work for killing folks.
I agree with you. 60 kinetic is the highest that we can put on a pet now. A TKA can cut trough that quickly.
There are many resistances on a pet, Kinetic, Energy, Blast, Heat, Cold, Elec, Acid, Stun... It is very difficult to get all these.
The pets can only deal out Kinetic. PvP ers can deal out all of the damages. Most PvP ers have more kinetic than is allowed on Pets, way more.

maybe what we need is armor for our pets and maybe spec. clay enhancments steel covering over existing claws or even to reinforce teeth.
I like this idea of armor covering for pets. Just the idea of a rancor walking around in composite is enough to make me keep MCH. j/k ![]()
Seriously..Interesting idea though.
TY TY
well I still like the armor and damage enhancment idea. maybe not composit armor but 1 level boost would be ok... from none to light light to med. med. to heavy..
and weapon (claw-bite) encancements adding +50 damage and on up depending on CL. or size of creature.
