Thread: Novice CH
I was looking for an answer along the lines of 15 or 30. The post is pretty confusing. I'll try to clarify. Since non-ch can use level 15 pets, don't they technically already have a max level of pets and total level of pets of 15(I haven't played in a while so maybe this has changed)? Anyways, if that is true, when you get the skill novice ch, do those numbers remain at 15 or go to 30?
I just got novice CH and I was wondering if anyone could give advice as to what creatures make good pets for starters, and which ones are most effective in battle. I thank youvery much for any help you can give
Needle (Death Squad)
Tarquinas
at novice get urself a rockbettle then at 1,1,x,x get ur self a gsp
i was wondering what vitality is? and if it can be healed
and i was wondering how in the fax it says one of the best novice ch pets is the rock beetle im a novice ch but i cant taim it theres no tame in the radial and when i type /tame its says you cannot tame this creature

Pet vitality is sorta like item decay...
Everytime your pet is incapped by a creature or NPC that death blows your pet looses some... everytime your pet is incapped by another player your pet looses some... when it hits 75/100 50/100 and 25/100 your pet suffers perm stat losses.
Bio-Engineer can make Vitality packs which help restore some pet vitality.. however, every use perm takes away from the max pet condition.
For example, if your pet has 75/100 vitality and you use a pet vitality pack the result would be something like 96/96.
As far as taming, what you can tame depends on how far up you are in the CH tree. If you cannot tame a creature that means you need to advance your skills some.
Hope that helps some.
I also am a Novice Ch and am looking for a pet. I have talked to a couple of Master B.E. and they said it was hard to make a level 12 pet for novice? Anyway I don't mind going out and taming my own pet, but since the change I have no idea what pet to choose. So here is my question;
Specifially what pet should I look for other than a b.e. pet for a novice ch.
Thanks for your help

You may carry aggro pets up to your max level, but you can't tame them till you have Taming 2.
Think that's right.
I just got novice CH the other day and caught a baby cupa. Lets assume that I am a 1\1\1\1 CH. Once that cupa is full grown will I still be able to use it ? Or at that point will it be to high of a level for me to use?

*sigh*
As far as I remember, a Cupa is about CL 10.
At Novice CH, you can handle CL12 creatures - you can see this on your Max Level of Pets Modifier. Also you gain +2 in this modifer for your for skillboxes for a grand total of 12+(2*4) = 20.
Ergo - you can handle creatures with a CL of 20 - which is up to a Mountain Dewback.

When you try to tame a wild baby it checks your skill against the creatures adult level. If you get the option to tame it then you have enough skill to use it as an adult.
