What's the best way fora Novice Creature Handler to advance in the profession. What are the best skills to learn first, etc.

I'm not a master CH or anything, but I've got a few suggestions.

First, the Creature Management line is a good one to work on. The first skill gives you the "group" command; when you're grouped with your pets, you gain more weapon xp. You don't gain more CH xp, but at least you can raise your weapon skill faster (rifle skill for me). The third skill in that line lets you have two pets out at once, meaning that you can essentially double the xp you gain from fighting.

You'll also definitely want to get Creature Empathy 1, quite early on. That gives you the "trick1" command, which lets you heal your pets' mind wounds and damage. Essential.

Other than that? If you just want to gain skill as quickly as possible, start taming like mad. Tame/train/release. Get as many commands as you can; each command you teach a pet gets you 100+ xp. I'm up to 1/2/2/3 in all the skills... I have... uh... 10 commands, meaning I gain upwards of 1100xp per tame. I'm not taming much at this time, though; I'm just having fun hunting with my pets.

The Taming line isn't quite necessary *right now* unless you want to tame pets that aggro (in which case you NEED Taming 2). And there are plenty of non-aggro babies around to help you advance.

Summary:

1) Empathy 1 is a must

2) Management line is very helpful, especially Management 3 (to control two pets at once).

3) If you just want to advance quickly, get the lower skills that gain you as many commands as possible... then tame/train/release.

FAQs are your friend, but since you're polite and asked nicely, I'll post a few creatures

You can tame/train any non-aggro creature up to difficulty level 15, just as a non-ch. Means the best novice ch pets = the best non-ch pets. Which means the best pets you could tame/train are (in a descending order from tough pets to weaker pets) mountain krevols, rock beetles, cowardly gurrecks, forest slice hounds, spineflap handmaidens, kahmurras, charred krevols, male robas, kaadus, banthas, peko pekos, gualamas, krahbus, pugoriss, wrixes, vir vurs, cu pas, squalls and rasps. Obviously there are a ton of even weaker mobs you can tame, but I'm not going to list all those.

Non-ch's can use level 15 pets right? I know there's 2 skills in ch-max level of 1 pet and max total level. I think novice ch has 15 and 15? Anyways if you got the skill that moves the total to 30, is the max level of 1 one 15 or 30(since non-ch gets up to 15)?
