I too would like to know if this attack is a root (most likely) or even a snare, and how long it lasts upon an enemy. Would be good to know to determine how worthwhile acquiring this ability would be.

Also, anybody know what other abilities the Giant Angler possesses? Since the three-abilities-per thing seems to be working out, we might be able to figure out what similar lower-CL creatures have the L2 and L1 versions.

Are you sure about that? I tamed a CL68 Giant Angler (baby) and it came with L2 Thick Skin... Not an L3, much less one as rare and desired as Pinning Attack.

Got me a swamp stalker the day pub 21 went live. It has bleeding attack lvl 1. I would have kept it whether it had the specials or not.

If it exists, I would say things that give Guarded Stance/Lightning Reflexes, Fleet Footed/Hamstring, or Beastly Constitution/Vigorous Health. At least if the special grouping patterns hold up.

I was thinking some form of spider (web attack) or a cat type (pounce). Perhaps a Great Plains Stalker, Swamp Stalker, or Plains Hunter would have this ability? Since they are rare spawns, that might be why the ability hasn't been reported yet...

I would think till the creatures like the great plains stalker spawn like they use to 3 times after you kill the first one you found. Not sure a baby will be found anytime soon. I have found 20 of them and I will tell you everytime I find one and it spawns yellow I get excited lol.

I would say when I first heard of the attack for some reason first creature that poped in my head that might have it was a cat type.
